Family Guy v. Simpsons?

Post by Kendall915 » Thu Aug 19, 2004 3:00 am

Whats the better cartoon, family guy or the simpsons, I vote Family Guy. I know the simpsons were the pioneers of 'adult' type cartoon humor, but Stewie and the Family Guy show took it to a new level.

IMHO Stewie has better one liners than Bart, such as "I love crack, I'm absolutely coo-coo for crack" and "Damn you Woman!!! How dare you!" in reference to Lois

Peter trumps Homer, this was a tough one to call, but peter's sheer stupidity is hilarious... it beats Homer's dim-wittedness.

Meg v. Lisa - I gotta go Lisa, meg is good, but a fairly flat character, she always is complaining about the same things.

Maggie v. Chris - Maggie doesn't talk, so I give the nod to chris, his pubecent struggles are something to laugh at for all generations.

Lois v Marge - I go with Lois, based on cartoon hotness. Its not even a contest.

Brian the dog, vs. Santa's little helper - Brian is such a dynamic characater, like the time he moved to LA to be a porn video director...

Thoughts? Opinions? Defend the Simpsons?

Family Guy returns with new episodes next year, if you havent bought the DVD, you should do so. 8) :D

Well the Simpsons has been on so long it can't help but look stale in comparison......
I've always found "Family Guy" to be drop-dead hilarious. Never understood why people weren't picking up on it, and it keeps disappearing for a year or two, but at least someone's smart enough to keep dragging it back on the air until people wake up.

Funny, I'm a Simpson's-a-holic, and I've never seen or even heard of
"Family Guy". :(
Normally I'd defend Homer and the gang till the end of time, but I'd better give this show a look first.
King of the Hill is a recent discovery for me, and I have to say that show is good entertainment.

Let's not talk about Futurama... cough. I like Family Guy a ton. I think it's just a tad dirtier than the Simpson's and that's something this dirty boy loves. I love that one episode when the Kool-Aid man blew through the wall of the court room. That was one of the best laughs i've had in my life!

Can't believe you've never heard of the family guy... look for new episodes in early '05. In the mean time you can go buy the DVD's :)

I just saw the DVD's at the store.
Which is the one to get?
Seasons one and two (combined), or season three?

All of them?

1+2 have a lot more episodes... more humor to choose from, you'll probably be yearning to buy the 3rd afterwards :)

Yeah, its on TBS sometimes, and Cartoon Network, but 2 or 3 times in August fox is having mini-marathons of it, to promote its return in '05.
