The best used equipment store in NYC is easily 30th St guitars, between 7th and 8th Ave. The owner Matt is like a brother to me, and I cant recommend that store highly enough.

For super high quality amps, nothing (in the entire country, IMO) touches Ultra Sound Rehearsal Studios, and they're right across the street from 30th St Guitars.

48th street (aka "Music row")as a whole is totally overrated (Rudy's has some nice stuff, but is way overpriced).
There are a few other smaller stores in the city, but its a crap shoot as to whether they have anything worth seeing, and its a guarantee if they do have a cool piece, its gonna be wicked expensive.

No disrespect intended at all, Rsi, but honestly, Umanov's is probably the last place I'd buy anything. The vibe when you initially walk in seems cool, and they DO have some nice guitars, but they dont budge a cent on their price, and IMO, they're very overpriced.
Maybe its that whole "shopping in the Village mystique", but Im amazed that they've stayed in business as long as they have.

Call Matt at 30th St Guitars. (Anyone there can help you if he's not in, though... his wife had a baby recently, and he's been taking time off). His store just happens to specialize in rare, weird and boutique pedals!! He has showcases full of them. He just might have what you're looking for.

If you DO happen to get Matt there, tell him "The Good Ralph" recommended you speak to him about this.
(Its an inside joke. Matt (only) will understand it, and he'll know that its me who sent you... the other guys there wont know what you're talking about. ).

There's also a place on Long Island called "Pedal Geek". They may have that pedal too.
