Re: 2013 RnR Hall of Fame nominations.
The Rock and Roll hall of Fame is.such a joke. The 3 people who do the voting must have been bullied by the Rockers when they were young because already in are: Michael Jackson, the Supremes, Madonna, and Stevie Wonder. While I can.appreciate their talent, they are not Rock. One of the voters for this joke is from Rolling Stone Magazine, and put Curt Cobain at 14 on the all time list of Rock Guitarist. EVH was 70 or something. I bet they can't wait for the second Mariachi Carey and Justin Bieber. hit their 25 in the business.. It really should be renamed the Metrosexual betamale (as opposed to alpha male) favorites list!!
Or pop music hall of fame to be more accurate.
A new hall of fame should be created called The Hall of Rock with actual rock. Commercial success, and time on the Billboard lists wont hurt, but more important would be the impact on the music, the ability to fill an arena 30 years later, and input from musicians. Other factors would be if 30 to 40 years later if they still play your music on Rock Stations, and your song was a to ten first rock songs that people learn to play. Like Smoke on the Water.
