Hi there, my name is Carson, I'm a Scorpio and I enjoy taking walks on the beach with my guitars...enough of that. I only found this site a week ago and I must say it is awesome! Then I find out today that Metro amps is based in Burton, Michigan..SHOLY HIT! Burton is only about an hour away from my hometown (Midland area) Needless to say I really want to come down to the shop and check it out. I WILL be owning one of the 68 12 series within the next year - in white of course- these amps seem to be exactly what I've been looking for.

I want that crunch tone that will absolutely, literally dismember my listeners, I wanna see their heads come off when I start rippin', my own included. I've only been playing a year and a half (24 yrs old) but I'm already obsessed with TONE...And I'll do whatever it takes to get it. I realize most of it is in the hands but I need an amp to have that lightning fast reactive-response so I only have to worry about keepin' up my end of the bargain. You're a good bunch of guys and I can learn a lot from you. I'm done kissin' ass now.

hey mate welcome to the forum. jings playing 18 months and wanting a tube amp i was playin about 3 years before i got mine. Good to see more young people interested in vintage gear and non of that bs boogies good technology crap sound. If you have been playing 18 months have you been playing through tube or solidstate, cause when you go from solidstate to tube you become more conscentious of your tone because these 68 clones have no master vol and they are more in your face but in a good way but 1 thing you must remember a tech at marshall said this to me.

" if you are a crap player and you plug into 1 of these you will still be crap but you will be really crap but very LOUD"

these amps make your mistakes stand out more but hey it's rocknroll. I just hope you know what you are letting yourself into

I hope you get either an attenuator or rich mod ppimv cause these buggers will blow the ears off of ya!!

I had my house shaking wit my 1x15 and 78 super bass!

Yeah I've been playing through a Traynor YCV tube amp for almost a year, I couldn't stand SS after hearing my first tube amp. I really don't like the sound of SS pedals in front of a tube amp either. Tube amps definitely aren't forgiving to poor technique, they let all of the nuances of your playing -good and bad- through. I play most of the time on an acoustic or a scalloped fretboard Strat, which is a very unforgiving instrument to improper technique, so I'm very technique conscious. Luckily I'm just as obsessed about my vibrato and string bends as I am about picking as cleanly and articulately as possible, great vibrato, intonation and muting are the keys, IMO, to sounding great on the guitar. Actually that's (technical side) been part of my problem, I've been so obsessed with technique that I really haven't built up much of a song repetoire yet. I'm pretty much as anal as Eric Johnson when it comes to playing now, I even started sanding the molding "ridges" off of my Jazz III picks before I knew he did it. I hated the screechy tone that little ridge made on my pick attack. Brass picks rule for tone but I haven't really gotten used to the string release of them yet. You see my dilemma with guitar playing, I just need to relax a bit and have more fun with it, let the rest of it take care of itself.
