F Huge telecommunication corporations phone company rant

Post by Necrovore » Fri Nov 26, 2004 7:42 pm

Ugh I've just about had it. Last week we went through one of our yearly mini floods which sort of goofed up our phone lines. Big time static in the lines. I figured this to be weather related so I let it go for a few days. Actually this is going on the end of the second week. So I call SBC repair line. I get into phone limbo entering my phone number three times only to get an answer that since they are under heavy load someone will call me back and its suggested I go to this website http://repair01.sbc.com/ to enter in my problem and do the repair ticket that way(its tons faster to do it this way) But if you click that link you get nothing.... You would figure that being a customer to the US's second largest telecommunication corporation they would provide much greater support than this. No wonder people go cellular only. The only bad thing about doing that is if something catastrophic happens and cell towers go out you are dead in the water.... end rant

SBC also provides the T1 circuit that takes the signal from the cell towers back to the SBC switch......
Ok I work at SBC but not on the phone side I am in the digital circuits side .......Here in the houston area it just rained for 2 1/2 weeks pretty busy.......
