Mmmm... 103" twin!! Tasty!! Go for it, man!! THAT'LL suprise some people!!
BTW, Nitro, Im with Chief on this one: Get yourself that Bonny, and head out, bro!! To me, my bikes are 2 wheel Prozac. Anytime Im stressed, bummed, or especially if Im feeling great, I just grab the keys and Im gone. Invariably, things are even when I get back, cause I just spent time in the wind, on the road, and most likely ran across some of my buds. The "community" aspect of biking is really great. (much like the community aspect on this forum!!) Its really restorative to the head and heart. Obviously the only (big) downside is currently living in NY, where its getting too cold to head out anymore, but then I just go downstairs and start 'em up just to annoy the high-brows!!

Yeah...you have to take it all with a huge grain of salt.

Yeah, one day, when I'm in a situation where i can work on it and store it. I think just for my sanity and to avoid the pain of dropping a bonny doing stupid maneuvers in a parking lot, I'll probably take the MSF course first (that'll help me decide if it's really for me if anything) and pick up a small honda rebel for a season or two to gain a bit of confidence.

+1 ~ Probably the BEST thing you could do for yourself. Having confidence and respect for your bike (and what it can, and cannot do) is ESSENTIAL, IMO for streetriding. My wife tried it, but LACK of confidence in her abilities was her downfall (literally). She will not get on a bike anymore, not even on the back of mine, and Ive been riding for over 30 years.

Confidence is KEY. If you think you're gonna get hurt it's only a matter of time. You can't ride with your ass puckered because when pucker time does come you'll have nothing left (if that makes sense). Riding a bike is dangerous enough but with the other morons out on the road you gotta keep your head on a swivel and anticipate that EVERY one is going to make a stupid move in front of you. That said, it's BETTER than prozac!!!

Nitro, MSF is the way to go. A Rebel may be a bit small. My wife did the Rebel then graduated to a Sporty and even though she won't admit I think she still looks uncomfortable and that concerns me. We got caught in major wind coming through the Grapevine once and I wasn't too comfortable I can imagine her at 100lbs on her 500lb Sporty getting blown into the next lane. The Adavance course is excellent as well. I take it every couple of years just to stay sharp. We even had one of our Road Captains drop his bike in one of the drills, but that;s what it's for. Better here than on the road.

Hey, fill. NO winter here. I think I'll go for a ride.... :P

3rd? One of my bikes will do 120 in first gear. The other might do the same in fifth, down hill with a strong wind at my back.

I like cruisers and sport bikes and have one of each. Both are enjoyable in completely different ways. Personally, I don't care for HD because they are over-priced and you pay for a brand name/image, IMO. To each, his own though.

120 in first?? What bike do you have that will do 120 in first? I have a derestricted '06 Hayabusa, and it wont do 120 in first. Maybe 100, but 120?? :? :?

Ahh!!! Somebody's paying attention. 120 may be a little exaggerated.

It's a Yamaha FZ-1. 100mph easy... 120 might hit redline (?). Either way, it'll pass a Harley like it's parked in front of Barnes & Noble, bragging to the yuppies...

And, no, I don't want to race your 'busa. That would be embarrasing for me (unless there are a lot of corners!)

You guys reminded me that "Wild Hogs" was on "movies-On-Demand"...I knew it was going to be stupid but had to rent it anyway. I can identify with William H. Macy's character! That'll be me, the tank slapper. :o

Bikers have to dodge crazy ladies talking on cellphones in their oversized SUVs...Now, imagine if these ladies were flying.....sure the roads would be clear but then you'd be dodging falling debris as sky accidents became more frequent, like riding in a meteor storm. At least with a dump truck in front of ya, you can see it and switch lanes to avoid pebbles shooting out ya....hopefully!

I dunno, guys. I have a crazy Bro who used to road race. He's got a 110", 6 speed Road Glide. I was with him at 110 when he clicked into 6th and was gone. You can make those La-z-boys run. He just bought himself a Ducati 1098 S. I don't hink I'll be riding much with him anymore.....

Yeah, the 'busa can be a bit of a cow in the corners, but not as much as you'd think, given it weight. B U T... give it some fist on a nice long straight, and its JEEEEEZZZZZUUUUSSSS its GOTTA be peeling the paint off this mo-fo!!!. I've owned some pretty stout bikes in my day (Yamaha V-Max, Kaw ZX-11, Honda CBR1100XX, an old KZ900 Kaw, and even a Kaw H1 750 2 stroke triple (evil in its most distilled form  ) but none of 'em compare with twisting the throttle on that Bus.
