Well...
El Capitano made a surprise guest cameo appearance at the local "Rock And Roll Night in Canada" Christmas Extravaganza last night. It was a pretty good turnout, lots of those little Danish cookies, chocolate cake, Christmas card exchanges, and cold beverages.
About halfway through the all night proceedings, we took a break to let the singers get some refreshments and so I fired up my "Christmas Surprise," and none other than El Capitano Highpants arrived on the scene, as if stepping out of a time capsule, circa 1986. We laughed, we pointed; El Capitano pointed back using his middle finger; we howled, we reveled; El Capitano slapped his guitar like a pimp; we lost all control, tears of joy were shed, and a good time was had by all parties involved.
And indeed, in the good spirit of Holiday cheer and festive hardiness, after the break was over, the giggles continued as the stringed instrument players--as if in a salute to El Capitano--tightened their guitar straps and raised their instruments to near-neck level for a few songs.
No pants were hiked up in the making of this post.
Oh, and Mark--thanks from the guys and gals. We had a great time with your find.
