Paul has got such a wacky sense of humor, I love watching his videos. He seems like a complete guitar nerd! (A compliment, of course)
I like that he can totally shred yet he can play bluesy, he seems to have some deep roots in classic rock. When I met him in '89 we were talking about influences, he mentioned that he was always really into Angus Young. For a shredder to say that back in the salad days of shredding, that said a lot to me.
You know that the Fireman is basically a redesigned Gibson Explorer? Its made of Korina and has all of the features of the original Explorer. The look may be a reverse Iceman, but its based off of an Explorer with single coils. If I get one built its going to have humbuckers in it though!

You know what blows my mind is how solid Paul is with is rhythm playing. He's very aggressive! His palm muting technique reminds me a lot of Eddie Van Halen. After all.. Eddie was one of Pauls main influences back in the day!

BTW: they are introducing a more affordable version of the Fireman soon, apparently... and he's really been favouring one of those lately, apparently (as opposed to one of the wicked-expensive limited run ones mentioned above).

I hope they do! I will buy one if they do!

Yup, upside-down Iceman (with a cut-out to help higher fret access)... hence Fire - opposite of Ice, going by Paul's thinking =]

The Iceman was a modified explorer shape, and explorer was based on the reverse firebird, so the fireman actually shares design lines with the firebird.... whoa, that's making my head hurt.
Steve Miller used to rock an Iceman. I don't know what's much cooler than that.

I am seriously thinking about having someone build me a replica of this Fireman guitar of Pauls. Everything I have heard it sounds killer. I would most likely want humbuckers in it though.

not to be rude alexmax021, but you've got one post (with a quoted message and a generic response) and a link in your sig to a site that shows full length movies. this sets off all kinds of internet alarms in my head. you answered the forum required math test but that isn't too hard to get around. so if im wrong here, feel free to kick me in the head via this forum. otherwise, can you prove you aren't here to spam us, but instead to participate (or at least lurk  ) in this great board of ours?

The Explorer was not based on the reverse Firebird. The Explorer, V and Moderne were introduced in 1957, the Reverse Firebird did not come out until 1963 and was a design by Ray Dietrich, a famous auto designer out of Detroit.
