Italian/Turkish?? Bro, you GOTTA have your hands full!!vanhalen5150 wrote:My girlfriend is Italian/Turkish...great cook, but shit crazy.

My wife is full Sicilian from NYC. Their STARTING point is shit crazy... I dont think I've EVER seen a family "event" that didnt have an argument in there somewhere, and ya GOTTA watch your eyes, cause if they're talking, their hands are moving.

Anyway, back to the task at hand... Having an italian wife and family, Im sorry to say that I dont do any of the cooking... its best left to their competent hands. Anyone that knows "Italian" knows that when the chefs are in the kitchen (some of which ARE men, but they're older generation cooks that have been at this shit forever), the non-chefs sit in the living room, drink, and talk (meaning yell) about whats wrong with the world. (Chief knows what Im talking about).
Besides, why would I fuck up some food when we've got generations of master cooks??

That being said, my fav's: If its gonna be a home cooked meat thing, blackened pork tenderloin, a batch of roasted New potato's, a little homemade applesauce on the side, and a nice glass of red.
There's a local Long Island wine made by "Pindar" called "Pythagoras". Goes with anything, it friggin'' RULES, and its inexpensive to boot.
If its fish, grilled salmon on angel hair pasta, with Francaise sauce, garnished with a few capers, some chopped tomatos, and 3 or 4 breaded jumbo shrimp surrounding the pasta.
(I know that fish and white wine are the usual combo, but I like this dish with a nice glass of Shiraz).
Bee-YOU-tee-ful!!
