Musicians are huge targets. You have guys who are carrying thousands worth of gear in the middle of the night, many times in dark alleys behind the venues and they almost always have to take trips to get their stuff outside. Its easy pickins and Ive had it happen. Ive never worked with a sound guy that wasnt packin.

Agreed. It wasn't even so much that that particular LP was all that spectacular but it did hold a lot of sentimental value. It was bought from the guitarist in my guitar teacher's band at the time for, believe this, $500! A cherry sunburst LP Deluxe with white humbuckers. I had been pleading with my parents about it for a year

A lot of them go to Japan as well.NitroLiq wrote: I've been on a bike kick lately (Have only ridden brother's dirtbike but thinking about taking the MSF course next spring to see if I'm really into it) and was actually reading on a site about bike touring yesterday that Harleys are probably the most popular for pro theives to rip for parts.
Go for the course Nitro but, be careful riding in NYC. Those potholes alone will kill ya! But, upstate in the fall? Well, you know!

Thus lies the dilemma, there are other priorities that'd come before the bike like a car and a garage...haha. I'll take the course to see if I like it enough. If not, no big loss. If I do, well, I guess it'll all depend on our circumstances...where we're living...wife wants to have a baby so...you know.

Last night someone walked up and stole my son's friend's bike right in front of our house.
The neighbor girl gave a vague description, and me, my son, and his friend have been driving around, scouring the neighborhood looking for the little shits all morning
I can't believe this is happening again. It happened right after I left, because I was setting up to play with the band last night, noticed I forgot my bulgin cord, and ran back to the house to pick it up, and noticed the bikes in the yard at 6:40,
and the neighbor girl noticed the kids walking up right after I drove off.
This really sucks.
I hate thieves
If I had the money I'd buy 2 more bikes, and a video surveillance system, and just leave them out there again as bait.

Better yet buy a couple of bikes and wire them up to a spare Marshall power transformer
. 500+VDC seems too good for those punks. Maybe it would work like Pavlov's dogs. The next time they go to steal something thier hands will start to sting.

I've had several bikes stolen over the years. Also a very setimental Kramer Baretta. Where I came up, thier were as many thieves as good people, and sadly, with the current influx of illeagles, it is getting alot worse. My Father always told me "Never take what is not yours", and "If you cant afford it, then you dont need it". This thread has me thinking of thats been stolen from me, and how shocking it is when a "Thief is among you ", and you had no clue.
