For sure, I've seen these same symptoms from a bad PS, motherboard, CPU, RAM and viruses. It's just the process of elimination. Last time this happened to me it was the CPU.

Mine was doing that to me and it turned out to be a clogged CPU fan overheating the CPU.

Mike

With the new processor came a fan. Didn't take any chances...

I have a $65 ASUS MoBo on the way to buy my sanity... PRICELESS !
Less computer troubleshooting / more amp building ! Again, PRICELESS ! ! !

Oh great. Here we go again. That stupid MAC vs PC shite again.

MACs don't do that?! Bull. They screw up just like PCs.

I've had my system for a little over two years and she has never hiccuped once! And she ain't no MAC.

I built her myself. Maybe that is why she runs so perfect? :P

I rest my case....
All you've proven is that your company choose a shitty supplier or maker of PCs. They obviously didn't know what they are doing when they put them together. Research needs to be done in order to build the perfect PC. Same as a MAC. They research to death which parts will work together the best in a MAC then make contracts with the companies that make the most compatable parts. With PC for the lower cost you have to research it yourself. Mine has worked perfectly for over 2 years I have thrown tons of audio apps at it and no problems once!

On the Cubase forum and the UAD forum and the Sonar forum there are plenty of folks with flawless PC systems. So I rest my case!

that's all I'm gonna say. MAC guys love to argue this. I guess it's cause they feel so bad about dropping all that dough on something they could have got much cheaper in another form and just as good. When I first built my PC it spec'd and smoked all the MACs being built at that time.

But don't worry. Apple will be around for a long time. I don't think Bill Gates is wanting to lose his $150 million + in shares he has in Apple. :P

Microsoft had 100 mill non voting shares in Apple. Sold them with a profit in
MacG.
