to be as free as riding a bike with playing. that would include seeking out and finding the tools as well as practicing the tools and their application to freely, at will, express.
style is not something to worry about creating you cant help it. its already there.
i believe its the plan on how to achieve the tools needed thats gets that voice to out and heard.
Eric Johnson said even though someone may have a library, it doesn't mean you need to open every book at once, pick and choose "tools" from a wide variety of players that you enjoy to incorporate in your own playing, you don't necessarily have to take everything with you in your tool bag, but it never hurts to have a variety when you want to call upon them.

I think that people are born with certain capacities. Like, you could want to be the strongest man in the world, but at an average size or weight, you just arent gonna be. I feel guitar playin is the same. I do feel though, that practicing will benifit all, the bad, average and good players.

hmm. I think that people are born with certain "abilities"

For instance : Everyone here looking at few bars/measures of tablature...Everyone playing the same exact notes but..... using a different finger to fret the particular note.

Where one frets the note.... Open D or a 5th string 5th fret or 6th string 10th fret...?

The way they bend/vibratto, whammy, choice of...
The pick attack, the pick material, pick style (model)
Strings for feel - nickel, nickel alloy, stainless....
shit, it just goes and goes...

just shut up 'n play yer gitar !
