the microwave here at work has a ghosting problem -
the "beeeeeeeeeep" definitely has some unmusical out of tune low notes gurgling underneath.
what to do?

hey - that's not all man - my washing machine is losing the bass response it used to have - my new Hotpoint doesn't hold a candle to an Electrolux. it's really sad.

I know what you mean. I added on to my work bench recently. The new section is particle board and when I drum with my fingers, it doesn't anywhere near as good a bass drum resonance.
