I still remember the news as if it just happened.
Amazing yet quite expected that Rhoads' influence and persona still stand strong 25 years after his passing.
He would have been 50 this year...

Randy will always be my favorite player. Dimebag a close second. Though I didn't much care for any of the Pantera stuff, the guy's personality and the way he used to instruct via his Guitar World columns won me over. That last Guitar Player special they did where one of Randy's students let GP publish RR's actual lessons to the student showed that Randy had a similar personality towards younger guitarists.
Gonna give a toast to Randy at rehearsal tomorrow.

25yrs already? holy crap... i remember it like was it was just a while back too. one of those moments you remember where you were at the time. he was another one of those guys that was doing the rock god thang, but if i remember right had aspirations to try & innovate some new sounds/styles. he probably could have done some.

I have that tune on a live/cassette bootleg? a friend brought back from the phillipines back in the 80's. Reminds me of Becks fusion work.
A fitting tribute to Randy.
