This years Musikmesse sucked! Are we reaching a plateau in equipment develpment? I mean shit is sounding pretty good these days! Where else can we go? Been hearing about his new scam to come of HD music and radio.  Sales on Standard CD players and MP3 players must be low. So let's roll out a need for a special HD music player! Keep it! I'm more than happy with the current music player offerings. ALthough I am always keeping my eye out for that perfect tape simulation plugin. Been hounding UA for this but they seem to only want to make every eq and compressor known to man.

A program called T-Racks is the best analog simulation plugin I have worked with. You can dial up their tape sim patch and even set the ips that you want to simulate. The tube compression simulation is pretty spot on as well.

Shit! I have T-Racks suite also! How the hell did I miss that! I got to many plugs I think. Man that T-Racks sounds good though don't it? I'ts been forever since an update though.

Definitely! I was expecting several things that didn't happen.

I know all of the Logic users are upset.

For tape emulation: the voxengo plug in is pretty cool. Digidesign just released one too. RTAS only, of course.

Having done enough computer rebuilds and re-installing over the years, I sometimes forget about plugins I used to use alot back in the day. I just got re-turned onto antares mic modeler...I friggin' forgot how much I love using this. It compares what mic you're using and applies other mic models to it. Of course it's not a replacement for having a real U-47 or whatever, but it does a great job, especially on a budget. You can dial in the polar patterns, proximity effect, tube saturation, etc.

T-racks' mastering suite.,..I haven't used that in years and years but I remember using the compressor a bit. I remembered another one I used to use called voxciter but it doesn't want to work in Nuendo....was a decent vocal processor IIRC.

The problem is that IK is a bunch of Aholes! So I emailed them over there and asked them when are we gonna get an update and some improvements on the T-Racks (It's been years since an update to the effects). Dude emailed back and said "we think it is good already, what more do you want it to do?" Now this was only a couple months ago. I get the feeling that they have written off the T-Racks and don't care to support it anymore. I'll never buy another thing from IK. No ongoing product development at all. I'm getting pissed with UA too. If I see another EQ plug I'm gonna puke. :x

I have tape machines. They are a big kill joy. Cumbersome and alot of set up and have to stock up on tape and all. Some what of a pain. But yeah, well worth it.

I guess it wouldn't be the same if I dumped it to my "vintage" fostex X-26 cassette 4-track and back into Nuendo, yeah?

Why not? that is the only way to get true tape compression these days if you are on a serious budget.

The version of T-Rack that I have is like 1.0 or some shit like that. The only thing I absolutely hate about it is that it only works when I use 16 bit video. It will not work under a true color format.
