Tremendous Loss

Apparently he was suffering from extreme depression. He left a suicide note clipped to the neck of his shirt. He committed suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. What a tragedy..

'charcoal burning' suicide
I guess a lot of people have killed themselves this way.

What possesses anyone to do it? Just goes to show you...you can have all the talent and success, both in career and personal life but still be hurting bad on the inside. If he suffered from serious bouts of depression, I can see it happening...that stuff can be triggered by the littlest thing and make problems the size of an anthill into the size of Everest in one's mind. Hell, there doesn't even have to be any problem...it could just be a debilitating overwhelming feeling of sadness that just happens.

This is gonna sound harsh, but suicide is the most selfish/self absorbed thing a person can do. Especially if you have kids.
I might get flamed for this, but I really think the answer to depression is to do something for someone worse off than you. If you're feeling depressed, go to a Soup kitchen or a food bank, and lend a hand. Because usually people who are helping others like that, are not thinking about themselves to this degree, and they are hit with the reality of the saying, "I cried becasue I had no shoes, until I saw someone who had no feet."
If I was his friend, I would have dragged his ass down to one of these places, and turned him into a Hilarious Giver. Not trying to be religious or preachy, becasue this can work for an Atheist too.

Wow, Didn't know this until now. Very sad.... I got a ticket listening to Delp screaming at full volume using the sunvisors of my Buick Skylark for cymbals!

This peaked my interest when reading Tom Sholtz's bio on Wikipedia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Scholz
After the death of longtime friend and Boston frontman Brad Delp, Tom and Boston held a final Boston concert in memory of Brad. Tom invited singers from past Boston lineups and different bands, such as Michael Sweet from Stryper, to sing in Brad's place. The concert was held at the Bank of America Pavilion on August 19, 2007 and was a big success according to Tom. It was said by many fans that one of the biggest surprises of the night came when a man by the name of Tommy DeCarlo sang on the stage. Tommy was just a longtime fan and who had auditioned in front of Tom to sing at the concert. His almost scary reproduction of Brad's tone leads some people to believe he will have a role in the future of Boston, if there is a future. As for now it is unsure whether Tom will continue work under the Boston Boston name, but many await live and unreleased material to of the band.

Found the Guy's Myspace account, and he is damn close, and very humble.
