WOW have you guys seen the ticket prices! 1000 bucks for floor seats. I was looking at getting VIP passes and figured 500 bucks but I was way off! Can't even touch those. Now I gotta rethink this.

All for a tarted up tour with no Michael Anthony? I'll find plenty to do with the $1000 I'll save, thanks.

I'll be able to afford the DVD, reading some old Van Halen interviews with Ed, he seems to have always somewhat despised Micheal and now is only to glad to not have to pay him  ,so it makes sense, plus he has always complained that the bass is inaudible anyway and he is a rhythm player himself with Alex...

Funny too how Ed was slamming on Mike and Sammy for selling hot sauce and tequila - for "merchandising", as it were - during the last tour. I was hoping that once Ed sobered up he'd see the light and invite Mike back for this reunion. Guess not.

Tickets over $30-$50 are a rip off, which is one reason I don't go to concerts much anymore. The first time I saw VH in '78 was at a Day On The Green in Oakland with Aerosmith, Pat Travers, Foreigner and AC-DC. I think those tickets were something like $28 bucks. Even adjusting the dollars to today, that comes out to about $100 per ticket ... for 5 quality acts, not just one or maybe two.

It's all about the Benjamins, and I figure having "Wolfgang" on the bass should cut the price by 1/4 anyway. It takes some of the lustre off, and we've yet to see if Dave can still sing.

+1 on the DLR vocals, I figure he'll need a rack of vocal processors to reclaim his " '70's" chops, at the press conference he looked like he was the doorman at some sleaze palace  , it's hard not to be cynical about all this, I'm sure we'll see the results on Youth Tube fairly soon, unless they ban cell phones/cameras from the shows  !
Sammy Hagar did nothing but help perpetuate the Van Halen Bros. income for many years and Sammy is a real rocker, proven fact, so for many years these two Dutch brothers had nothing good to say about their respective bandmates, I guess Ed has woken up to the fact that this is his last shot at major bucks, the appeal of the Roth era being the big drawing point, although many would gladly pay the full monty for a complete reunion tour

That's interesting I think I've read nearly every EVH interview and can't remember any bad vibes towards MA.

The issue was Guitar One and I will quote it when I get a day off, and I have the Guitar World Van Halen special edition from the '90's that I will quote too.The Guitar One is an interview that wasn't released at the time, it is coinciding with the Diver Down album, but mostly concerns Fair Warning, and Ed's use of overdub's ,ect., and his use of the OFR trem :D
I'll post these quotes Saturday, and I'm sure it will raise some attention.
