Hey all. Looks like found THE place when it comes to amplification.

I'm not sure where to start but I'll be soaking in a lot of reading here for the 1st few weeks at least. Though I'm not an owner of a Marshall, (yet) I still appreciate the thick heavy tone that they give. Hopefully I can find a way to swing a kit into my budget after I get a feel for what I really want. I'll probably be researching what was used by Duane and Dickey from the Allman Brothers "Stormy Monday" track at the Fillmore. I love the way they play 12/8 blues...

Wellcome aboard. You have come to the right place at the right time... George is putting out a 50 watt kit very soon. Duane used a 50 watt, probably a 1986 bass model. Very easy to mod George

Thanks. Is there a place in the forum I can learn about the model and nomenclature to I.D. the amps? When you mentioned 1986 it reminded me of one of the many things I wanted to understand as it coincidentally appears at first to be more like a year the amp was released. The same goes for the 1987 & 1959 model. I know it is obviously not associated with an actual year of release, but it's a bit confusing to the untrained rookie.
