Cynicism- The original Sin?
Posted: Sat Nov 24, 2007 9:25 am
Recently I have had a personal epiphany of sorts, realizing my bitterness and conflict with others and my quickness to anger and mistrust are rooted in my cynical attitude and therefore actions.
Growing up in England the sense of humour is very sarcastic and critical of others at their expense, but I accept full responsibility for my attitudes and therefore poisoned attitude.
This has been a major breakthrough for me and I know that the awareness of this and the failure of reliance on the 'self' and reliance on my greater father, will lower my already way too stressful life and help in my marriage and relationships with those at work.
This may not be new to many of you and I apologise for my cynical attitude towards many here, as what I am feeling usually spews out in type through my posts. I do enjoy writing creatively and it is hard to avoid overt criticism and prejudice in music, but I am trying from now onwards and especially would like to again apologise to Mighty Mike for much of my past acidic comments also St. August, I know that Mike forgives me and I have respect for him for doing so first, where my Van Halen comments have caused initially a lot of friction here and I would like to be at the vanguard of fighting the negative posts masquerading as 'opinions'
.
I have included the definitions of cynicism and for those who are interested, the Christian definition of Original Sin as I feel the root cause is best explained there

Original sin (Christian doctrine)
There are wide-ranging disagreements among Christian groups as to the exact understanding of the doctrine about a state of sinfulness or absence of holiness affecting all human beings, even children, with some Christian groups denying it altogether.
[edit] Original sin in the New Testament
The doctrine of original sin is thought by some to be implied in the Apostle Paul's description of human sinfulness as no less universal than Christ's free gift of righteousness, especially in the verses here italicized:
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned
