Any of you older English fellers got any insider info on what amp, guitar, and fuzz box Alan Parker used on Donovans Hurdy Gurdy Man? TB MK1? MK2? Marshall? Definately sounds like single coils.
This guy rocks! I got curious and tried to find some info on this Brit named Alan Parker. Formed a band called Ugly Custard. Heard a few sound bites from there album and man was it cool! Then went on ebay found the album in CD version and bought her. Groovy stuff man! You British guys never stop blowing me away. What is it? The tea? What is your secret?

Well I found a video on you tube of Blue Mink. It never pans over to the guitar player except for a very brief second and only shows a tiny bit. But it does pan over just enough to make out that the head is a Marshall head of some sort. Has the shape and the gold piping visible. Doesn't pan over enough to see the logo. But it's a Marshall. bass player is using a Marshall also.

thanks Eric, I owe you again

Great to see interest in this guy! The solo he does on Hurdy is easily the equal of JP or JB's work at that time...
Also check out Dave Edmunds power trio Love Sculpture circa 67-68, he was one hell of a hard rocking powerhouse and intricate player. Very advanced and also easily the equal of the name brand players. There is so much more to the 60' & 70's other than the name brand players. The narrow scope and view of that time I see today is sad...
Cheers,
Eric
