I can't wait to go heckle some salesmen. I've been needing a good laugh for a while now, and amusing though you guys are, nothing beats seeing it live.

Im one of the many with never a good story of them, or their like. In the now bankrupt Mars, I asked a salesman about an acoustic that was for sale, and he decided to play it for me. I stared blankly and suggested a break on the price (which wasnt the best anyway) since its preamp wasnt working. He kept playing. I left. I think those guys work on commission too, beyond me why they act the way they do. Most are usually about my age, always call me 'dude' every other word. If you ask for something specific, theyll tell you why its trash and you should buy something else

Anyways, Ive generally have much better luck at pop shops, at the expense of a few dollars. Theres a really good one here called Charleys, has all sorts of in-production tube amps with a few vintage, and a good deal of high quality guitars

I had that happen before. Like Im going to be so awed by their playing Ill want that guitar so hopefully some day Ill be able to play tht well too.

Charley's!! Now that is a name I recognize from my many readings on a certain someone with the initials SRV. He built the white Strat with the lipstick tube pickups in it for Stevie (or at least put it together for him), the one with the pic of the half naked lady painted on the back. It also had the Charley's logo engraved on the neck plate. That may even be where Stevie got his #1, I can't remember now. I'm glad to hear they are still around.

The "half naked lady painted" guitar was the one he used to record "Couldn't Stand The Weather" if my memory serves me right.

Could very well be, I know he used it alot live on Love Struck Baby. I have a video of him playing it at one of the Farm Aid's on that tune. Cool tone, plus you get to see the picture when he plays it behind his head on the solo.
