Hi everyone.

It is with great sadness that I write this to let you know our pit/lab/corgi mix dog, Bear Seavall, has passed on to Doggie Heaven.

For about two years plus now Bear had been having occasional fainting spells, losing his balance and then bouncing right back up 10 seconds later. They were infrequent, and inconsistent. Sometimes he

It really sucks when a pet gets sick and you have to put them down. They truly are family members. Our cat was recently diagnosed with kidney problems. He's drinking a lot of water, too but doesn't seem to be showing other symptoms (yet) . I wish they could just talk to you and tell you how they're feeling.

Wow, that was a heart wrenching read.

Pets are part of the family.
My Lab is 13, and last week he was throwing up and not eating, thought I was going to have to put him down, but he made a bit of a comeback.
Not looking forward to it when the time comes.

Jim - you really tugged my heart strings on this one... I've got two dogs and can't imagine going through this with them... they are just like one of the family... sorry to hear about your loss...

Remember never to shut the passed loved ones away, but keep something of them, whatever or as much as you can, out in the open, every day. Those who have left are never really gone, as long as we continue to hold on.

Jim, sorry for your loss. Our family lost a "good one" two months ago.
My eight year old daughter still struggles with it. She saw it happen (Chased a stray dog out of the yard and broke his neck on her swingset. He broke it in two places, Had to have him put down. My daughter bless her heart wanted to be involved in all of it. We built a casket and buried him on the farm.

I know there are far more good pets in the world than good people in the world. People here at metro family excluded of course!

Damn that's tough, Jim....they're not 'like family'...they ARE family. Been there...it does get better with time. God Bless!!

Jim, you got tears in my eyes with that recollection of your beautiful dog. I have 3 dogs myself, and one of them (my black lab, Sparky) is going on 16 years old, and has been battling cancer for about a year. He is up and down health-wise as well. He was my wifes dog before I met her, so I "adopted" him when she came into the picture 10 years ago. My wife is more involved with dogs (and animals in general) than anyone I know, short of being a vet. She is co-partners in, and manages a very upscale dog grooming salon on Long Island, and her partner is an AKC dog show judge. They work on National Champion dogs for the AKC shows.
One of my other dogs is my black pug, Nikko. He's just over 10 years old, and I cannot put into words who and what this dog is to me. I got him when he was 6 months old, really to take the place of my Boston Terrier (Sonny) that my ex-wife took when we got divorced. I couldnt look at any pictures of Sonny for over a year without breaking down. My pug has truly been my best friend all this time, thru thick and thin. He sleeps against me in bed, and absolutely LIVES for going for car rides with me. His favorite place in the world is the dog run in Washington Square Park in the city, running around with all the other dogs.
My third dog is a terrorist disguised as a white French Bulldog named Tahji. He is just a pup (1 year old), but they call them bullies for a reason. Amazingly smart, and fun. A real hamburger-head.

Well, I just want you to know that I completely understand what a dog means to someone that loves them, and what it means to have these wonderful "gifts from God" as part of your life.

You and your family have my deepest sympathy and prayers.

Jim, I am so sorry, my two dogs are my children and I totally understand and I have been with my past dogs as they passed on, God Bless keep strong, an dog is mans greatest friend, loyal and true on earth, we can always learn so much about love and acceptance from them and their powers we are only just scratching the surface in understanding

Fill, I had tears when I read this too, especially seeing the pic of Jim with his head down next to Bear. Breaks my heart.
My dog is Wolfie, a Lab, and it just kills me to see him age.
Sucks that Mans best friend only lives like 13-15 years tops.

Weird recollection, the first time I took him to the vet for his next series of shots when I got him, I carried his tiny self in my arms, and walked past a Van where a couple was bringing their aged Lab to be put to sleep.
They gushed over my pup, and I remember thinking I was lucky he was just a baby with his whole life ahead, but I'd be doing the same thing they were one day.
I pet that dog, and she was a sweetheart, but the body just didn't work anymore.
I'll never forget that, new life, and death right there in front of me at the same time.
I love dogs.
