I recently picked up the new Crowes album - Warpaint... What a refreshing listen compared to all the crap being released these days... I have always been a big fan and this album did not disappoint... my Tele has remained in open G since I picked this up

Below is a link to a few acoustic performances from the record...

Nice. I've always like the Black Crows. The Robertson Bros are very laid back and kickass musicians ! Chad

Isn't this the album that some buttmunching turdburglar reporter from Maxim gave a review to without listening? What a total buttmunch.
I'll have to go check it out.

Sad to say they were in concert this past weekend here in my own hometown even, but alas, I waited too long to try to get tickets.
Word is it was a kickass show though!!!!

new album sounds really good on first listen - back to what they do best (wasn't a fan of Lions).

Chris and Rich's solo stuff ain't too shabby either. On an aesthetic note, how does Chris get way with the beard? I grow out my hair and beard like that and people on the subway start giving me quarters.

Still think The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion is the most righteous BC album.

shake your money maker is my 2nd favorite... imo you can't beat those 2 albums. the others are pretty good too, but those 2 are definitely the best!

Funny. I read in an interview, I forget who was saying it, maybe Rich, but he was saying that theyre tone on the first album was awful and they just used what they had but the music was good so it didnt matter whereas these days their tone is much better. I dont know. Call me crazy but I think the tone on the first album is my favorite even if they do use vintage and booteek these days. I think that album was what Traynors?

I was always a fan of Amorica... I liked them all... I have a bunch of New Earth Mud Bootlegs (Chris's solo stuff) Great stuff... has a campfire/beer drinking vibe

I also have a great DVD called Two Birds from a Feather that is Chris and Rich only... great acoustic stuff....
