This is a Email from a Good friend of Mine here in Flint..
His 2yr old daughter has Cancer.. Anything you guys can do to help would be Great. The Family is Now in Debt way over there heads from hospital bills
and they May loose there Home..
This is Aliyah's site that her mom set up. I took yesterday, Tuesday the 25th, off to go to her appointments. Her mom has been doing it by herself for the last 2 1/2 weeks, since I went back to work at the prison.
They changed her G-tube (for feedings to her stomach) to a smaller "Mickey Button", instead of the hose and large apparatus dangling from her. She had her 2 hour chemo. Then, we saw the Director of Pediatric Radiation/Oncology.
It turns out that they abruptly stopped Aliyah's radiation treatments a few weeks ago (6-7 short of what they told us) because someone made a math error. They gave her a couple of extra treatments that they shouldn't have, though it was probably beneficial in shrinking the tumor. They caught it, but had to report it to the State and explain themselves. The transfer of treament from Flint screwed them up.
Even though the latest catscan only showed a 30% reduction in the dimentions of the tumor, they are taking Aliyah's case to the "tumor board" next week to consider the surgical removal of it. The tumor's overall volume has decreased by 50% (from 4cm.x 4cm.x 6cm = 96 cu. cm. to 4 x 3 x 4 cm = 48 cu. cm). They won't know exactly how it's doing until they operate. Scary, but encouraging. It could have been much worse news at this point.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers,
Brant

That is such a sad story. Heartbreaking. I wish there was SOME way to ease the families suffering, and Im not necessarily referring to money. The emotional pain of something like this is unimaginable. I have neighbors that have gone through something similar, also with a daughter, with the worst results. I still see this girls mother, and even though she somehow manages to carry some semblence of a smile, the hurt is written all over her. My prayers go out to this family, and all families in situations like this.

My introduction to this kind of sorrow was watching my Grandfather at my Dad's funeral (I was 12). What stands out the most was my Grandfather muttering over and over, "It's not right, your kids can't go before you".
He lost yet another son before he finally went. I can't imagine the hole in your heart....

That BIG C needs to be dealt with. I personally believe we have a cure for this but I'm not getting that started. I only pray that the little girl comes out a winner and that her family is comforted during this trying time. God bless and keep her and her family.
May the good Lord take a liking to you!
