I'd like to share someone many of you probably have never heard of: Scott Henderson.
If you ever get a chance, listen to Scott Henderson's Snake Soda (off the Vital Tech Tones Album) and Dolemite (from the Tore Down House Album) Holy crap this guy has great tone and the chops. The style is
Bluesy, Jazzy, Rock fusion with no singing.

My best way to describe him is: the techinical ability of a Frank Gambale, but with a tone and feel that rivals SRV! Victor Wooten on the Bass (Kick ass Bass PLayer), and Steve Smith on drums. (Yes Steve Smith from Journey) Trust me; it doesn't sound like Journey.

The Guitar sounds like a Strat. I'm curious as to what amp he uses.
Maybe someone here knows.

If Im not mistaken he's used both Two-Rock Dumble clones (or real Dumbles) and Riveras in the past. My memories kinda foggy about it though so the details of those facts are foggy at best.

He lately is using a custom audio amplifiers od100 from john suhr,great amp I just sold mine off to fund a les paul 58ri I've been stalking for a year.

It's a two channel amp that is supposed to be a fender blackface clean channel and a modded marshall on the other.Both have boost switches as well as brights and a effects loop that can be patched and used for the overall master volume.I also think that you can get a scott version that is a slightly different version.IMHO I think it was a more like a less gainyer SLO100.

To me his newer stuff (Custom Audio) is more of a Modern Progressive type of tone, than his tone on Dolemite and Snake Soda, which is more Dumble/SRV ish/(intro to the Bob and Tom Show Guitar) edge of breakup, percussive type tone, which is my personal pref

For some reason there's all this info on his custom audio amp, and his newer stuff, but not much info on his older stuff. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. One of these songs was on the Tore Down House Album, if that helps.

Have you guys heard Snake Soda or Dolemite? I started messing around with Dolemite. I turned it up a Half Step with a program, and have been learning it. I love the outro blues riff at the end. Eventually I'll get it perfect, but I might have to slow it down to figure it out right. (especially Snake Soda)

Fortunately, my homemade metro-NOS plexi gets killer tone for this style, which make's learning a lot of fun. I'm in love with this amp so much so that I could sell my 73 PTP MarshalL, and not bat an eye.

It's basically channel 2 of the OD100 Classic, only with a plexi Marshall layout and no extra switches.
Scott runs his amp at 8 ohms into a Suhr 4x12 cabinet loaded with 8 ohm Celestion 25 watt Greenbacks.

The one above sure looks like a Marshall clone to me.

This is the model SH is using.

Yes Mike, Scott has always been an original great guitarist,The VitalTech is what I had heard,and Steve Stevens has been using these Suhr amps and a guitar as well.
