Anyone else out there like it to burn??

We were sitting here laughing about hot sauce at work and I had to track down a post from Plexi Palace. A guy from Mexico had gotten some hot sauce from his little bro, and thinking it would be lame, tried three drops on his tongue. Claimed it was like toxic waste and no matter what he couldn't get rid of the burn. It was called the Ass Reaper.

So here we are laughing away, and I volunteer to track down some of said hot sauce for fun. Didn't think it would be easy but sure enough you can buy this stuff all over the net just like everything else. And a lot of other hot sauces too. With lovely names like the Ass Reaper, Baboon Ass Gone Rabid, Ass-In-A-Tub Armaggedon, Holy Shit, etc. how could I say no???

I had to order some Ass Reaper, and a bottle of Baboon Ass Gone Rabid, if for no other reason than the names are hilarious (and the Ass Reaper comes in a bottle with a cloaked skull on top, how freakin' cool is that?)

I used to work with a buncha Mexicanos and they were always bringin in their own HS. Some of them were really good. They were always pourin it on and their food was swimmin. Pretty hot compared to the pussified american shit. I kinda want to give the AR a try.

The hotter the better for me. I need to sweat while I'm eating. Watering eyes is a good sign too.

My last stuff was called "Pure Hell". Two drops on a whole burrito. Great stuff.

i didn't know you east coast/midwestern dude's knew about hot sauce? very cool!
when i was back there, people were like, "whats mexican food, whats a tortilla?" nothin but cracker food like turkey legs and gravy!

You guys need to come down here where "hot" food is a way of life. Those uber hot sauces are funny. They usually have nothing in them to give them taste. More like lets see how many Habeneros and Sctoch Bonnets we can cram in a bottle. The hot sauce needs to add some flavor while the heat should be the after effect.
You can tell a hot sauce is good if while you are eating it your upper lip starts to sweat. If you start sweating elsewhere on your face the sauce isnt made right.

EDIT: Almost forgot. If the sauce starts making you hiccup then its old. If its too hot eat cooked rice, rice is the only starch that will kill the capsacin of the pepper.

Man, you haven't been in the Midwest lately have you? Espanol is damn near the official language -- and that means good things for the local cuisine!! There's madre-and-padre restaurants all over the place with great Mexican food, not that tarted up ChiChi's shit.
Bosnians have some pretty good (not spicy) chow too. One lady who worked for us used to get us these monstrous meat patties on a pan-fried bread (she never would tell us what the meat was ) and holy shit was it good eatin'. They make some sausage that's to die for too. Goes straight to your gut though.

what do you guys think of that thai food? some of that stuff is spicy, and delicious, makes your scalp sweat.
necro, i agree with you about flavor. i tend to like the verde sauces on machaca and enchilada's, red sauces on burrito's, sopes, and abondigas soup. and the super hot sauces in chili type things, and foods with absolutely no flavor or personality.

Mmmmm.....machaca.......I oughta get some stuff to make that again soon. Problem is you can't find the meat that's already seasoned and dried for making it. Maybe I'll have to bribe someone here to hook me up with the meat supply.

Myker Thai food is my current favorite cuisine. We have the absolute best Thai restaurant in the city about 5 minutes from my house. The best thing is that I can go in and ask the waitress to tell the chef to make me something "off" the menu, and there is no problem. He actually enjoys it when people ask that type of stuff.

Current favorites are Red Curry chicken or seafood, Tom yung soup, curry pumpkin, Pad thai, Fish Curry(delicious fried whole fish head and all that is sliced perpendicular to the length before frying then has a curry sauce poured over it afterward YUM).

Whats this Machaca you guys are speaking about? Is that a take on Machacado? Where you have eggs scrambled with peppers, tomatoes, onions and dried beef? Thats the best breakfast mexican plate ever. Huevos ala Mexicana a close second. Its the same with no beef.
Seeing that most of you live up north next time it gets cold go into one of the greasy Cocinas(restaurant) and order Caldo de Res, or Caldo de Pollo. Pronounciation is Call-though di rrrress (roll the tongue on the r, the call is like making a phone call and though as in how you normally say though) Pollo is pronounced Poy-oh. Caldo is a light soup but its the type that warms you to the bone and if the soup dont come to you in a bowl the size that you can take a bath in try another cocina next time.

The machacado you're talking about sounds the same as the machaca I'm talking about. Zing that stuff up, and it ain't just for breakfast anymore!!

Thai food is fantastic. Yum...

Now were talking. I love everything hot. I also have a collection of around 400 hot sauces.

Maybe we need to get together for a Metro amp Hot food jam day.

That would be a pretty "thick" stage if you catch my "drift".......hehehehe.......
