Anybody got any good info on basic room dimensions for good acoustics(or ones to avoid )? I have seen general formulas but can't put my hands on anything solid.
I'm building a music room in what was open space over my garage. I threw out a dog house dormer and am ready to frame the inside.

Try using the "3,5,8" rule, which means multiply each by a common number, to get rough room dimensions. So if that common number was 3, you'd have a room 9 x 15 x 24. Plug these dimensions in to a room mode calculator to fine tune.
I've got an outbuilding that's 24x24 that I'd love to turn into a project studio, but to make it work I need to add on at least another 12 feet, maybe more. I've been trying to get my wife on board for months now but somehow she thinks it's going to be more expensive and harder then I've told her. Wonder why she thinks that?
