I'm back online. Katrina ripped us a new ass here in the N.O. area and gulf coast. I cant believe BIG BROTHER took so long. If this was an invasion from a forign country, we would be fucked!! I'm just trying to get back to normal so I dont lose my mind.

Glad to see you made it through OK. I have family in N.O., and everyone made it through but all their homes are gone.

The devestation down there is just unbelievable, and the aftermath absolutely horrible. It's been difficult for me to understand why it took so many days to get water and basic help in.

I dont know jason. I see more C130's and tons of other planes this morning flying over my house steady. I should be living up there in Washington next year. Wenatchee area. As far as here, its very bad. Glad to hear your family is safe. If yo need to try to contact through a forum. goto www.wwltv.com . it is a local site that had to relocate to baton rouge for broadcasting.

Its so wierd to realize a US city that everyone knows from childhood and (many of us) have visited basically no longer exists and in such short time. I wont try and be PC and pretend it isnt way different from hearing similar news from Pakistan or China etc... Supposedly 8000 people from NO are comming to Phily.

yeah, they are going everywhere. They are trying to spread them out all over the us to keep from overpopulating any area. we had a report today that Baton Rouge population is over 1 million!! My house was almost untouched other than some shingles and wind turbin gone. 15miles east and it's total devistation. feels weired. 82nd Airborne took up shop at the small airport I work by. They're literaly on the lot next to me. I also have been getting cool pics of the helios. my red blooded heart swells with pride seeing Americans helping Americans. I've never been more proud :D It's unreal. We always knew it was gonna happen just didn't know when. The real horror is yet to come after they get the water drained. Lets hope its not the 10,000-20,000 they think it could be. I'm way lucky!! 15miles to the west and that would have been me. well, off to bed now, Still have bills to pay. Later!!

It's pretty surreal even from an non-American pov, tbh.

Glad to hear you're okay, Thunder. :)

Thanks, It feels weired here now. It just isn't the same. Well my house is sold. I close on the 23rd so I'll be moving my stuff tomorrow. Then in march I'll be making the long haul from southeast Louisiana to Washington state. Thats where I'm going to call home. After about a week. I'll be off the forum for a while, maybe a year unless I get to use someones computer. Oh well!! back to packing. Later
