is that salt n pepper on your cab nychief would it be possible for you to send me pics of it if it is because i am going to use that stuff on my cab because the basket that marshall supply is brown and that will clash wit my gold.

That is salt & pepper, John. It's the 2-12 angle bottom that goes with the 20 watt 2061X HW head. George's store has a ggod pick of the S&P and basketweave.

Thanks, Country Boy. That is the start of the Custom Authentic run. The first 25 were played and signed by Page and were getting $30K orders before they even made the showroom. The next 150 were Murphy aged and they go around $12-$15K. The guy I got this from has TWO of those. One with original PAF's. Then the CA, custom shop aged run started. This is #11 of that run. They're up around 500 per the admin at the Gibson forum. It wasn't cheap but, nowhere as bad as those above.

I'm not one for "signature" models for signatures sake. But the legend of this one is true. All the other late 50's and RI's I've played have necks like baseball bats but, this one feels like my '71 Custom. REAL nice.

BTW, the guy I bought this from also had a real, honest to goodness 1959 Burst. I paid homage to it for all of us. REAL mojo. He had to bring it back to the collector the next day.

It’s actually a Greco-Zemaitis, the <ahem> “economy” model. My bass player has an original worth about $20K per Vintage Guitar. It is quite nice. He’s been bugging me to get one so “we match” (Bass players, geez). I told him the only one I would ever think about is the cool disc front like Ronnies IF it played as good as it looked. Make a long story sort, Tony Sr passed on and Tony Jr has resurrected the name. They’re making new Z’s as a hand built custom shop type axe ( $8K range) and they have licensed a jap firm to make the Greco–Zemaitis line still hand assembled but using more machinery to cut necks, bodies, engraving, etc. These are “cheaper” than the hand builts. Danny O’brien who did all the original engravings is doing all the new work as well. Just a one off cool ass guitar you don’t see much. BTW, I heard Ronnie’s was zipped so he got 2 of the new Z’s. The engraving is really cool, the whole pirate motif like Woodie’s. Arrrrrghh, matey….

Just like the original. They first install the stock keystones, then remove and replace with the Grovers leaving the aftermath of the orginal keystones.

I have to agree with you on the flame top. Most rew RI's are "flamed out" and don't look a thing like the originals. As I said before, that baby is hot!!

Played it through my AC30CC2 and 2-12 cab with pre rola's and my new TMB pedal (partly on Dan's recommendation!)...HOLY SHIT the thing sounds f'n unreal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Chief, did they put the cheap "Mother of Toilet Seat" inlays on the JPP? Or did they go ahead and put actual high-grade Mother of Pearl like they do on most Les Paul Custom Shops?
