Scam alert

My sister recently put her house on the market for sale. She happen to have a friend, at work, alert her that her house was "for rent" on CL. Evidently someone got her listing info and was trying to scam would be renters.

I'm not sure how the con expects to gain someones confidence by renting a house sight unseen, unless they were hoping it was empty. Maybe, trying to get the "rush bid" saying "I'm showing this house to 3 motivated renters tomorrow..." Anyone else with a similar experience?
