John did you find anything out? Anyone? I tried Jon's number but it was disconnected. Kinda concerned about the man. Days are crazier than ever, and can get ahold of the best of us sometimes. I hope he's settling down. Thanks.

Re: Dont' know if this is appropriate
I'm a facebook friend of his, and he's fine. Wound up BBQ-ing with the Fam and he was yucking it up as per Jon.
Hope this isn't too much info, but his wife died via suicide, and I was shocked to see this and then go to his home page.
Seems to be in good hands for the moment. Apparently a Women affected him in a negative way.
Mods please delete this if it's inappropriate.
When he was in Michigan I went to see him play, and had a blast, and he helped me on the phone more than once working on my first build. Very generous with his time. And loquacious!

Jon has helped me quite a lot of with superbass problems i have had which were basically nothing major just little tweaks. What are amp bods anyway they are manipulation of resistor and capacitor values etc
Shit hits the fan for everyone but least we have a chance to help that person out

Sentience wrote:When I looked around for a tech to help me, I ran across the thread where George asked everyone to list their contact information. As someone else noted, Jon posts on another board I guess.
He has his opinions about competition I'm sure, yet I've seen threads where he's asking for help, y'know? Like with assembly language (or C++, or something like that, I'm not familiar with it, but I could sorta follow the discussion) in order to program Midi commands, to change motor-controlled potentiometers. Seems to me, that's similar to that new Marshall model not too long ago, wasn't it? How is this guy limited to voltage divider circuits? Seems to me. Like. No dummy.
I remembered that, because at the time, I guess I was searching for information on Midi for some reason.
I'm no electrician, I don't design things with PSpice, work with the fabrication equipment in a factory with this business. I'm just another player, trying find a DIY community of like-minded individuals, who also appreciate the professionals (here and elsewhere across this world wide web), sharing their knowledge, whether basic (like for me) or to the more advanced (when I can only read it).
Having said that, I have no interest in Facebook social networking. And let me vent. I catch holy hell flak every day, it seems like. From strangers, which gives me the right to disturb other strangers I figure.
Much like the people who spend too much time staring at the mirror, I understand the reasons today, why certain bands/artist sales drop off suddenly, once their latest debut has taken place.
Was just thinking about this and I'm going to share the heat, because it's entirely inappropriate, trust me. I didn't grow my hair long, to make little old women at the grocery store, move faster in line.
Corporate formula driven music, rotated way too much in markets where the FCC no longer has regulated ownership (at least since 1996), while also partnering up in a single entity non-competitive business market for video music, touring and ticket sales ect, probably satellite/cable distributors...definitely internet distribution with their webstore smartphone/tablets or whatever... this is all sanitized down. It's bland oatmeal. It's as good for your health (and your culture), as too high of fiber diet, only meant for the jackass.
I'm not being political here, but I am saying it's definitely government influenced , corporate lobbyists for sure; the culture specifically being targeted, marketed, towards the identity of a generation. This type of mass 'narcissism' won't be reversed with me, oh no. I might have actually taught them over the years, simply by complaining too much about it, who knows. (Too much knowledge is a bad thing?)
How does this relate to a "black" brooding Columbine type, suicidal crowd? Well for that, you go ask ChurchLady. I'm sure as hell, not going to talk to her voluntarily, after all...I already read The Book.
So I will tell anyone who has read this far about Facebook.
Hey kids! Listen to the Principal. Don't forget classic rockers already had their lives, before you told us to get one! We, or they (my influences) probably listened to (serious) players at one time. And now us, yes, U.S. as I can't speak for the planet, as young impressionable smelly teen spirit Young American types, yea, it was we, who listened to the dire warning jeers, D'yer colored world blackened warnings, 20 or 30 years ago, and then it was Us, we, who then promptly signed away our control too, didn't we? Because the music never mattered, did it?!
And that's why when I look over at a person roughly my age, next to me at the bar...and then say, "The only way I get through two or three hours of these poor choices from younger people on the jukebox, is to imagine the low din of a neighbor's lawnmower". Because appealing to me with worse, worser, and worst choices, it's like saying you 'wanted' my older disposable type income. Wanted the party to keep going. I get that. That's me surely, yes, listening and watching to your advertisements, me staring at the laundry spinning, until dry.
Better wake me up with glass breaking, violins, pianos, FM synths, or something with another subwoofer beat. I'm really to the point now, where I'm going get therapy over it. Or really want to get another drink.
Rotating your same music over and over, on ALL the radio stations in one area? Free country, yep, no doubt. But I had an open-expanded mind once, at one time, a long time ago, to prepare for me for this at middle-age.
Funny how memory works, because I'd sure like some of these young'un jukebox heros, to list me their hit songs from certain artists, and not just from the last several years. No. You list something beyond the 24 hour news cycle hit piece. Something beyond the latest Flavor Flav of the Month MTV disgrace. I know what time it is.
A lot of them seem to forget the names of those songs pretty quick, huh. Why is that? Try it. Ask a younger person (born post modern digital information age) if they remember a hit song from a certain band's first or maybe second release, something that got lots of radio airplay back then, maybe six or seven, ten years ago. They'll look at you like it's your fault.
How is this my fault?! I'm the Payola exec loser? It was I who compressed the hell out of the dynamics of the recording, and I should get up to speed of the industry...loop sample it next to a click track, use the cookie cutter lyrics repeating themselves over and over in a Freddy Kruger nightmare, like nursery rhymes in some infinite Jungian womb? My fault? How so. Hair length?
At some point, you'll need to warn your own kids. Apparently I was too "dark" in my tone, so I needed to be "fiscally" corrected by all the great talent on FM out there. I know this, because my day job is more fun than guitar playing now. But I'm still turning the radio off, more than tuning in. Perhaps I should find a Glee translator somewhere, if this doesn't make sense to the Mix channel either. Maybe there's an Estrogen Bablefish Sensitivity page somewhere out there, on the internet. Put this into a touchy feely way down on that end of the dial, so your Facedbook'd 12 year olds looking into their mirror, will believe this is instant description to the new standard of beauty, art. You know? Money with a tiara.

Enjoy life. Beauty, art. What a cliche. Yea, random act of kindness, with death metal riffs.
Women, cash, these kind of things. Sure. There are crazy ones, no doubt Jon (if you make missteps in reading my huzzah this far), but look at who started the whole "let's go get our trophy-high-maintenance-wives together, so we buy into a real estate market, a second time (!), and then compare our debt-to-earnings ratios with ponzi friends at the local country club."
Yea. It was us. Like we were the 18th century Victorian men negotiating our life-long friendship, treating them like they were chattle. That partnership sounds about as fun as getting "friended" by yet another rich famous person on teebee, don't it? Didn't need any Oprah New Establishment to judge my occasional couch jumping, didn't need anger management movies from Sandler to judge my driving skills, didn't need Francis Bean's revenge to judge my domestic disturbances. I just needed a woman who understood blooz don't sound no good on 2.
Facebook, MySpace, Twitter...yea, those will make all my life goals come to their senses, when I get those accounts, yep will make it all worth it in the end. As soon as I make the friends who do that sort of thing, of course.
Meet the boss, same as the old boss. Stayed true to myself, the kids are alright. Been 4 Real good lookin' boy.
