I just wanted everyone to know what a great guy Benjamin Wise was. I purchased 68 Metro from him about a year and a half ago. About 5 or 6 months ago I decided to contact him regarding some questions I had about the amp. He was very accessible and filled me in on all the info I needed. Not long after we struck up a friendship. I were e-mailing each other with questions regarding mods, and he was very kind and helpful. We must have exchanged about a 100e-mails in those months and I have to say I have learned a great deal about amplifiers since due to Ben.

I came to the forum today to look up some info on mid pots and saw the banner regarding Ben's passing. I was shocked and saddened to tears. One of our last e-mails I said to him "We should get together and do some amp tweaking together" and he replied "I'll bring a six pack over.....sounds like fun". I sent him an e-mail about 5 days ago or so and got no answer. Not a surprise as he goes on missions and can be gone for days at a time, so I thought nothing of it. I'm just shocked! I was looking forward to our continuing friendship. He lived about 45 minutes away from me, and he was due back in March.

I will never forget him and those e-mails will be printed off and saved. I certainly plan on paying tribute to him in some way. I'm not sure how but it will be something that will be everlasting. Ben I'm so thankful that we were able to be friends for the short time we had, you will be missed! Thank you for serving our country and affording us our liberties you are a HERO!

Very nice sentiment, Ajay. We're all feeling it regarding Ben. I didnt know him as well as some here, but he sure seemed like a great guy, and for him to pass in ANY way, much less how he did pass, is just one of the saddest things ever.
He will be missed greatly.

Thank you for the kind reply Fillmore. I had a difficult time writing it and I apologize if it was a bit muddled and all over the place. This will be a tough one for sure.
