Attn Organ Donors:

Post by mightymike » Wed Sep 26, 2012 1:09 pm

This is some scary shit, and the reason I have never authorized myself to be an organ donor. I knew this shit would happen.

Can you imagine instead of getting treatment for what ails you, they look to part you out?

People all around the word "donate" money to corp. to be first on the list, when i mean first on the list I mean garunteed! Children are found burried or on the side of the road stiched up and missing organs in third world country. if you do not know by now I'm a Paramedic and once I droped off a 16 y/o who snaped his neck playiong foot ball, his body was more for basket ball, any way a snaped neck mean he would never be able to move his arms and ever walk again, well good enough I was there when Dr. convensed emergrants to donate his organs because he will never going to be the same again and the parents bought it. and the Dr walked away RICHER. Welcome to the real world, nothing new.

Sorry lot of mess spelled words. Word Doc is not working.

I don't even remember if I ticked any box that makes me an organ donor. How do I check? The article sounds scary :?

the thing that knocks my head each time i hear these stories is ( and dont worry i'm far from overly naive ) " aren't there laws anymore ? " .... it's as if no one gave a flying fuck about laws no more nowadays .... ok so let's all deal crack and be rich then ? ... sounds like a good plan since there's no law no more .... :what: I mean this is so hypocrite and of variable geometry ...

I'm not in the medical field so I really don't think about this much, but I have heard of what they do to prisoners in China, and other horror stories of people being drugged and waking up with missing parts.

It's one thing if ypu cut something from someone who is really dead , but a heart transplant has to to come from a body with the heart beating, and part of me just didn't want to leave this call.up to.someone elses judgement. I imagined a scenario like the football player, but to read your recount of this story sickens me. This is why I never singned the back of the card.

BTW, it would be very hard for me to step in and inform the parents, it would be like chalenging the DR's words. If you have to make a decsition like this, and you know for shure it would be impasable for your loved one to come back and the staff at the emergency room ask you for the organs. Tell them 1,000,000.00 per organ. It sounds shity but I bit you they will walk away to make a phone call.

I hope no one here haves to go through something like this
Sorry for the grammer and mes spelled words. :palm:

The healthcare system in Canada, isn't perfect, but at least the system doesn't have this kind of shit going on.

That's absurd.

Actually the heath care system in Canada is 100 x better compared to the US.

That is why the dreaded and feared (at least in the US :?: ) socialised medicine actually works.

No-one gets rich from organ donation in the UK, the only people who benefit are the recipients.

Cannot and will not understand the rant in some parts of the US about having a health service that is free to everyone at the point of service. I do have a private practice but apart from have more time to spend with people in a slightly smarter environment and having shorter waiting times what I do on the NHS is exactly the same.

Shady bits of India and Eastern Europe have steady trade in 'live donor' organs too

Your post made sense etc, but your spelling and grammar was not how it is normally, wondered if you were tired, were writing really quickly or had a few beers before posting (beer = 'pop' colloquially where I am from!)
