Jeff Beck at the Amp Show!!! (by proxy....

So after about 6 hrs of shred fest this young English kid comes in, picks up a strat and starts playing some very Eric Johnson type of stuff. And I catch a few Jeff Beckish whammy bends. He played for quite a while and was certainly one of the better players to come through. Afterwards he talked with Angela Grant a fine local guitar player in her own right helping George demo the Metro line. Turns out he lives locally now as well. She asked if he plays with anybody and he says “I’m doing a show with Tal and Vinny in a few weeks.” I forget where he said because my radar went up immediately after hearing Tal and Vinny. I asked if he meant Wilkenfeld and Coliauta. He says “Oh, yeah. You know of them?” !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I said “So you’re basically playing the Beck position?” He said “yeah…”

I asked if he had met Jeff. He says “Oh, yeah. Matter of fact I knew Jeff before Tal. A buddy got married and Jeff was his best man. After the wedding we went back to Jeff’s house and jammed!!!!

He also said that Jeff was getting away from his DSL’s and really would like the Metro 45/100. Unfortunately, George wasn’t in the room for that so Angela you have to hunt down Owen Barry and make sure we get a Metro 45/100 in Mr Beck’s hands!!!!!

Wow ! Fantastic !!!! ha ha, it'll be fun to have the Beck sound even before Beck lol, since it was easy to sound "Jeff Beck" with a metro amp !
