Sorry to hear this mate, it's gut wrenching isn't it. Man that's some good pedals gone as well, really sad mate.

Wow, this sucks. Left you a message. If you need to borrow some gear for your gig, let me know.

Sorry to hear about this Mike, can't even imagine how you're feeling.
Sometimes the words "people suck" come to mind. :( Of course that's just some people, but when you get stung, it reduces ones faith in Humanity.

If I lived in Cali, I'd sure be on the lookout for you. There is nothing lower (not even a snake) than someone who steals someone's tools of their trade be it actual tools or instruments or whatever it is that they use to make a living. In my local Oklahoma City news just recently a man had a trailer full of musical equipment stolen, truck, trailer, and all for around 50 - 75K. Maybe this could be an opportunity for someone to start a new business and get a new television show, " Guitar Thief Acquisitions". There are enough people including myself and many others on various instrument forums that would be behind a movement like this. Musical instrument theft has seriously escalated in recent years and is long past due for needing to be addressed by individuals like we musicians who really care.

One thing you could check on is for any local cameras that may have visual confirmation of your culprit, culprits car, (and/or) auto tag identification. Hope this helps.

The more I look at it there is no way that the tailgate opened while I was driving without me feeling and hearing it. And even if it did was there NO one in morning rush hour traffic with the decency to falg me down?? "Dude, your gate is open" or "Dude you just lost something off your truack"..oh wait, I'm dealing with southern Cal scumbags. Yeah, people do suck.

CalTrans reported no findings along that stretch, CHP reported no accidents along that stretch (I'm sure a super reverb bouncing down the 5 freeway is cause SOME kind of commotion...) local PD's reported nothing.

I put signs up along the non freeway routes where most likely the gear would have fallen out and will hit the local music stores today.

Let me get this straight, you're driving down smooth Cali highways and avenues and you lose your equipment (even with a tailgate open). I can understand this happening on some Oklahoma roads. You'd almost have to place a Fender Super Reverb on your tail gate and goose the truck to get that kind of action as heavy as these amps are. I think you took your eye off of the package for just long enough at the convenience store, or someone drew your attention away just long enough to remove said property. From a CHIP's officer perspective taking a report there are too many holes and variables in your explanations. I'd be looking to see if you were high. No offense intended.

Well I'm confused here, sounds like you don't know whether the stuff fell outta the back of the van OR it was stolen "somewhere" but either way you didn't notice??? :what: :palm: If it fell out of the back while you were driving you'd think you'd have heard something. Lost OR stolen, exactly?? Either way, still a major bummer.

If Chief is like me, he probably had the music going so LOUD that he couldnt have HEARD an ambulance or FELT an earthquake 8) . The odds are bad as to ever getting any of that stuff back :palm: ,but there are still good people in this world, so if they fell out (instead of being out right stolen), then maybe one of the 'Good Guys/Gals' found them, and will advertise them around town in such a way that only YOU the owner could claim them.

My faith is restored!! Well, 50% worth….

So I posted a bunch of signs around the neighborhood and the local GS, Ash, pawn shops, etc.
A very nice young lady called last night to say “I saw your sign and I think I have your gear”!!! Sure enough she brought the gig bag back intact with everything in it. She found it around the corner! So yeah, somehow your dumb a*s friend didn’t secure the tailgate and when I turned the corner the amp and bag ejected. I would for sure have heard the gate open so it most likely dropped when I went back in the house. That proves my theory that the gear would have come out immediately.

It also proves that someone in my own neighborhood is not as honest as this young lady and has my amp……will we see a daily double for humanity????

And yeah, TS normally the tunes would have been a crankin’ but not that particular day.

A weekend thing in Seattle lately. Post on Craigslist, Facebook, take photos of your gear, have identifying marks hidden, serial numbers etc. Check local Pawn Shops.

Sorry man, hope its gets back to you.
