... you seem to have caused quite a firestorm on Plexi Palace. I must admit I just don't why your post caused such a big stink. Everyone here is so helpful and willing to share information freely. It just seemed like a normal post overhere. The folks at PP seem to be a buch of uptight cork sniffing jackasses. Many posts seemed to evoke some kind of snide response. Don't care for that. Without sounding like a goof, I really enjoy all the guys over here.

Well since i've been banned from PP because of posting my thoughts on Christian Rock and rowdy behavior, what was the buzz all about my man??

This is why Necrovore and myself refer to it as the "CSP"...

Yeah fuck that place. That is not a marshall builder friendly site if you ask me. Its for guys with their vintage amps and condescendng attitudes. You want to throw some gasoline on that place go over there and post that your clone will smoke any of their vintage amps. I try and stay clear of any place where people take themselves and their hobby so seriously.
What did Mark say that got their panties in a bunch?

He tried asking ****** what value of the preamp filter cap in his '67 was.
http://www.vintageamps.com/plexiboard/v ... 24&start=0
^ That's the thread he asked it in.
I don't think they believed that Mark was just curious about the values he had, they thought he was asking so he could build his amp to ****** spec and find a perfect tone or something.

Who cares if he does? Its so fucking stupid. I just dont get it.

Yeah, everyone knows all he needs to find is a diagram for the Bainzy gain stage mod
The time when Mark asked for information at TheGearPage was 100 times worse, but to be fair Mark was harassing the guy a bit

. I still think Mark was right to do so - it's pathetic how people protect 'secret mods' for a builder that is just cloning somebody else's work.
It's like if nobody knew what was inside a 12000 series Marshall but George, and George expressed to everyone that he wanted the circuit kept secret so he could make money off it. Then annoying shits on forums boast about how they have the circuit but won't tell anyone. George would never do that, and I hate that Mark Cameron does it with Jose's mod too.

Yes but hasn't Jose's mod been leaked here in some other thread? I could have sworn it was. IIRC the general concensus was that it was a primitive style MV and there are others out now that are better.

Yeh it has - schematic AND Mark's sent me pictures of it that he easily found. The fact that it was primitive is just more reason why that thread at the Gear Page was so retarded in the way they ganged up on Mark. It's not that they complained about Mark pestering the guy, they bitched about 'protecting Mark's mods' - which weren't even his or even secret.

Yes, it is pretty funny when people get ganged up on when they ask questions like how Mark did. Personally I thought that type of behavior pretty much died when people started freely distributing information on the net. That is why Metro forum is THE ultimate goldmine of amp info. Probably the only other forum that I have seen that compares in the free distribution, friendly atmosphere, and HELP are the Trainwreck and SLO Clone forums.
Without you guys I would still be trying to figure out what I wanted while paying some local tech here $50/hr to help me figure it out. Now that money helps me out going straight to gear and componants.
Bainzy, I would still love to hear more about the Bainzy mod. sounds like that mod would be the perfect mod to be able to go from classic Marshall tones to Metal meltdown at the flick of a switch. When you are ready though as per your other post in another thread.

PM sent!
With one gain stage it can get fairly high gain but I'm guessing meltdown will occur without overloading the tubes with the Bainzy mod performed twice.

Its a shady area whether its even right to protect a mod soemone invented. Even if, say, splawn or cameron etc.. have mods they invented themselves they are still only mods not original circuits and the mods themselves are nothing inovative and certainly not original. As far as I know theyre all just using the same circuit designs that have been around for half a century or other ubiquitous circuit variants mated to an existing circuit. That in itself is not anything grandios. Thats certainly not intellectual property but should you feel bad if you reverse them? I really dont know. If someone asks me not to disclose something as has happened several times, I wont. Not because I agree but hell your word has to be good.
Then again I can understand how someone spent time tweaking a really great sounding mod that few other people could come up with or have the ears to and they want to protect their work. More importantly I would think is keeping other people from selling the same mod. But at the same time they are only changing around a circuit that is certainly not theirs using designs that are certainly not new and they did not invent. Its a bit confusing. It seems about what it shoudl be to me. No legal precident but they can ask people not to share. But when that discretion doesnt exist (because the builder, manufacturer is out of business etc...) these guys on forums just look like asses. What are they protecting? Theyre protecting the uniqueness of their toys so they can be the only one. I always look at that like, you should probably practice more. Then you wouldnt need to worry so much about the gear aspect of your tone, because the part of the tone your hand contributes to is much harder to cop.

The only reason I've not posted my mod in the open is because I don't want somebody thats not part of this community, finding this forum and taking the mod and selling it, passing it off as their own. I figure if I get it passed around here as free information for a while, everyone will know after a while that there's no point paying for someone to do it for them that didn't come up with it as they can get it for free from me. I'd be happy to perform the mod for someone in the UK but I'm not going to get like Caswell and charge $400 for a mod that takes 30mins max to do.
