Car for Guitar?

I nearly traded my car for George's old guitar: here's a lesson kids, never drink and negotiate with George.
Now maybe if it was an old SG...

I thought I had you after that Jagerbomb. I still think you need one of my amps instead. We can put that same sticker on your amp if you want.

Okay, what's the whole story? What kind of car for what kind of car? I've gotta hear this!

My '99 cavalier (I know, I know, laugh at it) for his old epiphone, with sparkles mind you (and the key selling point, which won't be revealed, if you've seen the guitar, you'll know what i am talking about), with some other parameters to the deal, however George isn't talented enough to drive two cars home at the same time... LOL.

But if we traded I wouldn't have a back up guitar.
OTOH if I broke a string, I could just hop in the car and be gone before anyone knew what was happening.....
Sweet.

I'd be without a car, but with a guitar with "that message" on it I am sure i could seduce some women into driving me around.

I played the crap out of two of those Epi LP's. But you have to find the right one. There's about one in every 20 that is good.
Then you have to rip out all of the electrical components. Put in good pickups, locking tuners ect.
After all of that, you have a guitar that sounds pretty good that you don't have to worry about getting beat up on the road.
Kendall- get yourself a real les paul, after the wedding we'll talk about an amp.

The amp will be before any said wedding my friend, and i'm down between an American Strat, and a Gibson LP standard... It seems worth the extra money to just get a real LP instead of buying an epiphone and gutting it.

Trust me, they are worth it! However, there IS a flaw I have noticed with their fret jobs.
Since I've had my Gibson LP standards, when trying to play Stranglehold I would try to get that A note right at the beginning of the solo to feedback for 8 measures like you're supposed to. I tried bending the 20th fret on the B string and I had tried the 17th on the E string, but it just kept noting out no matter what I did.
So I took it to my buddy's shop who specializes in Gibsons, and he checked the fret heights and OH MY GOD!!! The frets were all staggered in height past the 12th fret! One fret even had to be RAISED UP, then they all had to be milled down to get them all level!
When I got the guitar back, sure enough I went to hit that note on Stranglehold, held the guitar right up on the speakers(you have to get a Les Paul REAL close to the speakers to get it to feedback due to it's solid mahogany body), and there it was! PERFECT FEEDBACK!
So now I'll be writing to Gibson and bitching to them about how bad my frets were on all 3 of my Gibsons. Since then I've been putting each one in the shop and now the last one is done!
Just thought I'd disclose this to anyone interested in buying a Epiphone Les Paul. If Gibsons are that bad with frets, imagine how Epiphones are!
Jon
Since then I have been taking each of my LPs one at a time in for a fret job.
