Speaking of, Paul McCartney is always cool to see, but WTF was that crap Jay Z was spewing out while Paul was singing???

Robert Johnson, very cool. Now Bruce Springstein is on. Good to see there is still an appreciation these days for people who actually play, write, and sing decent songs.

The performance was alright except when every singer was trying to "out-solo" eachother. I HATE THAT!

There is such a huge portion of today's so called "music" which to me is just pure fuckin crap. WTF was that marching band shit with "J-F-U" and K-West? And sorry, Cold Play is NOT the second coming of U2 (and I can barely stomach them). At least Madonna has good looking legs and Kelly Clarkson was genuinely honored. Why do all the divas want to be cast in the same cat wail? Herbie Hancock and "Xtina" murdered what could have been a really soulful tune. Sounded like a duel rather and a duet. The Labelle cat wail from the openeing bars versus Hancock playing like most of todays guitar players who have to play a billion notes a second and sound like a bee in heat? Gimme a Clapton single note bend or BB vibrato or Beck lyrical lick anyday. Helter Skelter? I thought that was an odd choice though it was done well. Yesterday would have been superb without that other ass rapping along. Even the singer in Linkin Park added a decent harmony part. What was Paul thinking? At least Billy Jo said something meaningful though lost on most of tin ear's in the crowd. At least Les Paul was mentioned. (Hope he gets well).

As usual, the Grammy's sucked.

i love watching the award shows - interviews - talk shows-anything to get closer or inside someone head that i may admire or respect - love it.

I at least liked U2, but Mary seemed out of place. I'm hating how there are no presentations of good ole heavy rock. All this rap and pop has taken over. I remember back in the 90's when Guns and Roses along with many other sweet rockers kicked the Grammy's ass!

man, i love it all - art is the reflection of a society and i wouldnt have it any other way. and i happen to think cold play kicks major ass.
and rap- you cant appreciate rap? ok then get rid of the words and listen to what they are doing with the groove. just what we used to do with guitar solos in my opinion - i love it all - things change - i love change its a challange - its up to us now to do what miles davis did or hendrix - inovate - nothing remains the same - but to say there isnt any good music today compared to would be just going backwards and none of the people we do like ever went backwards. my 2cents

i cant say that - i wouldnt put it in the cd changer but i do have all that stuff in my ipod... i cant say it sucks cause it doesnt speak to me- but i can say people eminem and fitty kick ass at what they do. i appreciate it for what it is. thats all im saying here.
