I have a regular tube style monitor. Will going to an LCD one eradicate the bad interference I get from the tube one through my guitar when I'm recording? It's obviously real hell on my P-90 guitar.

I have a CRT monitor as well. I found that if you are recording in front of your computer, while actually recording position yourself at a 90 degree angle to the monitor and the interference stops.
When Im recording like this I set up my pedals that I might be using to my right so all I have to do after the track is armed and ready to go is hit the space bar to start recording.

That somewhat works but I'm looking to free myself from not being able to move around while I record...If anyone out there has a LCD screen I'd love some feedback on how it works out.

CRT´s, like your TV is a huge sorce of hum. And heat.
LCD´s, or really TFT´s dont have huge coils and magnets, and don´t emit hum at all. It´s the way to go for recording at home. And they are pretty cheap now. I have done the 90 degress trick in past, and it works, but it is like playing in a straitjacket. I play Strats with singlecoils, and a few degrees off...HUMMMM.

Yeah LCD is the way. I use a laptop and I don't have interference problems with single coils - unless I get too close to the computer.
Not sure, but perhaps it's the hard drive or something else. But a few feet away is fine.

I can usually hear the hard drive through my guitar pickups and amp if I'm too close to the computer, as well as optical mouse noise. But LCD's help a lot otherwise, just gotta stay away whenever possible for best results.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the inra-mouse thing.

Thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to get an LCD monitor. I also just want to take up less room as well.
