Small World !

Post by MacGaden » Sun Feb 26, 2006 10:30 pm

I called a Guy i had emailed with about a SD Broadcaster pick-up on my way home from a gig yesterday. The pickup was gone, but it turned out that he was building amps, and had bought a couple of chassis and a headbox from George, and he´s only 30 miles away from where I live !

He really liked the quality of the things he got from George. Nice guy to talk to, and after talking for 2 hours about amps, speakers, pickups and guitars while I drove home, we decided to keep in touch, and get a Metroamp East builders thing going. There are probably others here in Denmark

And FYI: 30 miles is´nt long anywhere, but Denmark is soo small: 250 miles in either direction either puts you in the water or in another country..

Like an American told me on flight from Detroit to SF: "Man, you could put that in Nebraska and nobody would notice !" Still we get in the papers a lot these days.... :?

There's a lot of High quality Amp building going on in the Netherlands.
Everyone I've dealt with from there has been great to do business with.
It seems someone hid a bunch of NOS amp parts in your country.
I would like to go there and hang out at your flea markets and see if I can be lucky too.

It also seems like blues-rock is very popular in the Netherlands as well 8)

Well I would´nt know too much about ampbuilders in Holland. I´m in Denmark:

The little appendix to Germany, in the "jaws" of Norway and Sweden is where we live, all 5.5 million of us... But we do get in the papers a lot !

But there is a lot of blues here too, and lots of ampbuilders. But for some strange reason most of them build Tweed Deluxes or Matchless clones.
The guy I found is the first I know of who builds Marshall clones, And with Metro parts.

For the longest time I've had my Dutch and Danish, Holland ,Neatherlands, and Denmark all mixed up.
(Like who comes from where.)
Which is pretty bad since I'm part Dutch,German, Norweigan, and Sweedish (among other things) and
I do business with people from those areas.

So I did a little research on this subject, and now I got it.
Hell I even learned some the history, while I was at it.

Go ahead laugh.
I deserve it.
