As much as I hate George Michael, he is a better replacement for Freddie Mercury. That boy can sing......

Queen must have a flamboyant gay man at the helm......

From the clips I´ve seen, and the reviews I´ve read Paul Rodgers does a good job. But he´s not Freddie....

I was listening to their clips of Bohemian Rhapsody, and you can can hear Freddie's voice in there, in the back up vocals. They must be playing along with a recording.

I'm happy for them that they can get out and play the big shows again.
That band had a lot of good music ahead of them before he died.

I saw the show at the Hollywood Bowl. It was an execellent show. Third song in was "Bad Company" went over real big. It is Freddie singing Bohemian. They did a really cool thing with that. Lights went down, then a video of Freddie sitting at the keyboard started Bohemian. It was pretty erie. I looked like he was actually sitting there. It wasn't so much a Queen show. It's exactly as promoted, Queen with Paul Rodgers. Everyone knows Freddie is irreplaceable. There were many mentions of Freddie throught the night. . It was good enough to see it again.I'm going to see them again at the Arrowheaad Pond soon

I think George Maichel would've been the best fit ... IF they were trying to REPLACE Freddy. But this is a collaboration between Paul and some of Queen. I can really see how doing some Queen and Bad Company tunes in a concert would work (except RockandrollFantasy ... never liked that one), but can you imagine playing Tie You Mother Down and then "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" next!

George Michael is a great singer,but I can't see his solo stuff working well at a Queen concert, it would be like when Prince (a different genre) opened up for the Rolling Stones. Maybe if his music wasn't played on different genre (Dance) radio, like Bad Company, it could blend better.

but boy can he sing his ass off.

I saw the show also. I thought Rodgers absolutely ROCKED in the bluesier Queen tunes, like Tie Your Mother Down, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, etc. Although Paul is incapable of singing a bum note he somehow was less convincing in the more 'opera-style' Queen compositions. My absolute fave was Paul Rodgers' version of We Are The Champions. WOW! My absolute fave Bad Co. tune that night was Feel Like Making Love. WOW again! Paul was made for that kind of stuff. You could tell he was most comfortable singing songs like All Right Now, Wishing Well and Can't Get Enough Of Your Love. I didn't care much for the semi-acoustic part of the show and certainly not Roger Taylor's singing.

I saw them on Friday night at the Palace. Probably the best concert I've ever been to. Rodger's doesn't try to be Freddy, but he makes his own rockous entrance. I had floor tickets like 10ft away from the catwalk and it was mind-blowing. Me and the lady sung every damn song at the top of our lungs including all the Bad Company and Free hits.

During Bohemian Rhapsody they played this film clip of Freddy doing the introduction of the song, and Danielle and I had a pretty good cry and had to wipe the tears from eachothers faces. It's one of rock and roll's greatest tragedies and it was hard not seeing him there with Brian May and Roger Taylor. Overall, it was a great night!!!

I've never gotten the impression that they were trying to replace Freddy with Paul Rodgers.....Freddy is irreplaceable, and Paul is one of rock's great classic singers in his own right.......just some guys getting together to play some great music.

I totally agree. This new setup was more rock & roll than the old Queen with Freddie, which in my opinion was always the band as a vehicle for Freddie. Paul Rodgers is more a part of the band, even though he is billed seperately. There is also more room for Brian May's guitar work, which is great. And boy was his sound impressive: nine (!) Voxes stacked on top of each other stacked in rows of three!
