My son is heavily into videogames, as pretty much all teenage boys are. He sent me this URL in an email of a update to some of the video action in Final Fantasy 7. If anyone remembers this game I think you will be astonished as I was.

Youi realize nec that that footage isnt the actual gameplay but a mini movie trailer of the storyline shots that happen in between the game. Considering the media they could really have those be as big budget as they want. As long as they can fit it on a disc. Not that the gameplay isnt pretty impressive. Ive played the game at friends places, or rather Ive watched them play. I havent had a game system in years but most of my friends still have PS2 or something around. Its nothing to have actual film footage in games. They are CD/DVDs after all.

You have no idea just how much time FFX sucked out of my life...ask my wife

I was obssessed...gorgeous cut scenes, long...all around perfect game. I was really big on 3D animation/modeling at the time (another hobby) so I considered it as vital reference material...heheh.

Yes Dan, No video game has that level resolution of actual gameplay. What my whole point was that the fottage in that slip was the animation sequences from the FF VII game using FFX's graphic engine. I just thought it was pretty cool, as I really liked FF VII.

Oh I got ya. I thought maybe you were a much older guy who just remembered the nintendo game from his youth

VII was amazing at the time no doubt about it. I only regret I didnt actually own a system to play it myself though looking at the hundreds of hours of life my friends spent staring at that game maybe Im glad I didnt

Yeah, after the first 150 hrs or so you start wondering why your guitar chops are deteriorating.

Last FF for me was FFX on the PS2. I got about 60 hours out of that bastard. Then Half-life 2 along with Counter-Strike:source came out and that's the end....

Dan,
I'm not THAT old...... I'm only 35. Hell if you want to get old, how about the Sears version of Pong? We got one of those when I was about 6-7 or so.
