After Slash.... A guy who can play: A tribute to Harrison.

Prince !

A little too much, but love the moves. And apparently, so does Dhani, George´s son on the acoustic. 8)

If you don't like Prince, you are ill at ease with your own sexuality.

The flashy licks Prince plays on the albums at times arent anythign. you have to see him play live. I used to have a clip of him playing Tender Surrendor, the Steve Vai song! Thats was crazy.

Wow! The little fella is really enjoying himself there. I think he's a great player, sometimes he's big on flash, low on substance.

That's for sure -- I saw him live on the Musicology tour. Absolutely the best show I've ever seen, with three completely different full concerts in one. It was very guitar-centric, and his genuine chops were on display all night. MONSTER player, mastering many playing styles and musical genres.

Sounded killer.Didn't know he had it in him.
I'd like to hear the Vai clips

Looked like he was crowding/upstaging Petty, and Petty was shaking his head after. Give the man some ball room for crying out loud!
You would have really seen Tom get nervous, if he was wearing the assless chaps and acting like that.

As much as I liked the playing
If I was in the crowd, and he leaned back like that, I would have outstretched my arm, and pretended to catch him, and then let him drop.
Then point and laugh.   :P

They should have had him, not Slash, to do the Hendrix thing.

Are they other songs by him (Other than When Doves cry) that have great guitar work, or does he only unleash the fr*^%% fury live?

The first time I saw Lenny Kravitz was about 1990 on a UK talk show. He finished the show with 'Hey Joe'. It was awesome he even had the girls doing backing vocals as the guys did on the record. One of the best Hendrix covers I ever saw, really jumpin. Usually that stuff should be left alone besuase it's real difficult to get it 'right'. See Slash video.

Ummmm, where did his guitar go??? He throws it straight up at the end.

Good playing, and obviously no lack of theatrics.

The only time in my playing career I ever had an actual guitar solo where I just played for a while without the band was when I was doing the end of 'Lets Go Crazy'. Flashy but certainly not anything great. Im sure it is when he does it live but theres some chops there for sure. Thats also one of the few songs where people actually pay attention to the guitar solo when I played.

Krist Novoselic of Nirvana tried that with his bass and it came back to bite him... in the head...
