Any of you have gone all the way and got a custom electric guitar made? Instead of buying a Gibson or a Fender. Fender have lifted their game but l feel Gibsons are way over priced and the quality isnt that great. My brother a second hand Gibson Les Paul Standard with Flame Cherry AAA+ Grade, nice guitar, but the new one dont come close to finish.

Yup - mine has a Jackson style neck, Strat style body, diamondplate scratchplate and bareknuckle pickups. I'm currently refinishing it, I'll get some pics up when I've done.

I'm having a local luthier help me build my bass. I picked some woods, took it out to his shop, and he split it and layered it with some walnut. When I get my act together, I can go out to his shop and he will let me use his tools to shape and fret the neck, then he'll rout the p'up holes and control cavity. Very cool process thus far.

He'll custom build what ever you want. He specializes, as it were, in neck through, but he's open to suggestion. Last time I was there, he was building a semi-fretless bass guitar. Interesting.

www.mosercustomshop.com One of the best Luthiers I have dealt with. Neal is probably one of the most honest men you could ever meet.

Wow, those are some wicked looking axes he has there. I'd like to have one, but I'd scare my bandmates with it. ;)

He does make more traditional shapes in the Templar series as well as the Mini Moser.
