Mid / late 70's Michael Schenker is the best !
The gh cd "Essential UFO" is fantastic.

Pure raw tone and emotion...
Too bad he didn't stick it out w/UFO.

I always thought the Scorps with Uli Roth were better then UFO. Almost like Sabbath vs Judas Priest. Almost but not quite...a different league.

Lights Out tone, is the tone the Scorps copied. Michael's leads are almost VHish on that song, he sounds different here compared to for eaxmple: Too Hot to Handle,
or
Only You can Rock Me.

About that same time Scorps tone was evolving too.
Maybe they went amp shopping together..

Well there was the Schenker brothers involvement...

I personally like Roth's style much more than (M) Schenker. I'm talking about early Scorps "In Trance", "Virgin Killer", "Sails of Charon" not the shit they're doing know.

I saw the Scorps at the US Festival 83 and they kicked ass just like the Record. They didn't headline, and played like they had something to prove. VH came on after, with DLR drunk and arguing with some guy in the crowd, threatening to Fuck the Guys girlfriend or soemthing.
