I'm a Nerd!

Post by Dax-The-Ax » Fri Apr 08, 2005 8:00 pm

I found myself today listening to the solo from "Beat It" over and over again in my car. I think it has to be one of the greatest solos ever laid down!! I about cream my jeans when i hear it. I read that "Ed" did it in like one or two takes. Unbelievable. I wonder if he was using his own amp, or what it was? I'm a cornball!!!!

The solo that made it OK for rock guitar players to like pop music!
Supposedly.

The solo that made it OK to like child molesters? I'll pass.........
I'm being semi-sarcastic, I do like the solo, just not the guy whose album it was on.

You know, that is disturbing.
With M.J., we all know he's a friggin' freak, but Pete was the Man.
(except for the white jumpsuit at Woodstock)

There's a song that spoofs "Teenage wasteland" called "Preteeen Playland"

I told my neighbor if he ever gets caught smoking a doobie, to use Pete's
excuse, and just say he was doing some herbal research.

Pete seems really conflicted.
Three things stand out for me;

1. "Rough Boys"- The title speaks for itself
2. The quote where he said he thought of himself as a woman
3. The porn research-
The first two I could handle. the kiddie porn was really dissapointing.

Weired guy/great guitar player
Live at Leeds is still one of my fave albums.

that is one cool solo on "beat it" (we should've known back then....the guy where a glove on one hand and sings just beat it!!!)

anywho

I say that solo was the last straw for DLR because Eddie did it for free!!!

think how huge that songs was as well as the album. not the Eddie needs more money, but just the thought that the number one selling album of all time (back then anyway) and the number one sing and he didn't get a penny!

on the topic of doing things for free.....I heard U2 did the IPOD comercial for free as well. maybe that's how you get rich, do things for free!
