Zep show postponed...Page broke finger?
Led Zeppelin Reunion Show Postponed
Nov. 2, 2007, 7:57 AM EST
The Associated Press
LONDON -- Led Zeppelin fans awaiting the rockers' reunion will have to wait a little longer.
The band's first concert in two decades, scheduled for Nov. 26, has been postponed until Dec. 10 after guitarist Jimmy Page fractured a finger, organizers said Friday.
"I am disappointed that we are forced to postpone the concert by two weeks," Page said in a statement.
"However, Led Zeppelin have always set very high standards for ourselves, and we feel that this postponement will enable my injury to properly heal, and permit us to perform at the level that both the band and our fans have always been accustomed to."

Yeah. they were saying that on the radio this morning. I believe he broke it last weekend...Apparently, the doctor told him he can resume rehearsals in three weeks. I guess it must be a good break...I recall a story from the zep days (the train door incident?) where he was still playing in spite of a broken finger...IIRC, he made a joke about his "three-and-a-half finger" technique or something along those lines.

How would we have known this unless we were told
based on his technique, Steve Stevens played with his right wrist in a cast a few years ago.

I saw them in the Northwest in my younger daze. I remember for weeks we would be screaming every five minutes, "WE"RE GOING TO ZEPPLIN!"
We finally go to the concert and Page had a broken finger. He sounded like total crap. Here he was onstage making all the "guitar faces" and sounding like ass. We were majorly pissed. So were alot of other people. It's like he didn't give a shit how he sounded, just pay me and I'm outta here.

I have any number of bootlegs that say their standard of performance wasn't all that high!!! Don't get me wrong, I love Zep, but damn when they sucked they really sucked. At least Page and Plant -- I can't think of one bad JPJ performance, or even Bonzo despite how drunk he always was.NY Chief wrote: to perform at the level that both the band and our fans have always been accustomed to."
