Suhr Doug Aldrich Pickups

Post by Yngve » Tue May 20, 2008 7:36 pm

Anybody had a play with these pickup thinking of purchasing one of the Suhr pickup to replace the bridge pickup of my Ibanez Exotic Wood Series USA as it has a Di-Marzio PAF-PRO and with the wood combo Mahogany and Flame Maple top it sounds dead. What do you think guys?

Yngve, I would get the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop RTM (Rattus Tonus Maximus), the 'newer' version of the venerable JB, custom developed by Warren DeMartini for use in his newer sig Charvels. This is an awesome pickup and I may just have to have one for a future project!

I just got lucky! Bought it for $1800 off a guy on the coast who owns a music store in the middle of no where and there she was :D

Excellent pickup, I have them in a Les Paul, lots of high end cut and definition. You swear you were playing through $400 custom pickups. Both the neck and bridge sound great.

Believe me you will love them, much less money then a lot of customs. Just about the perfect sounding pickup. They are hot but still have tons of articulation.

Get the Aldrich neck, that is what I have, it's sweet too, just like the bridge pickup. The set goes together perfect.

I second these pickups. I only have the bridge model (still much thanks Allen) but these are the best pickups I have ever herd for rock/metal. I will eventually get these in every guitar I own.
