RS Guitarworks!!

Post by Dax-The-Ax » Sat Jun 11, 2005 4:15 am

Just Installed the RS Upgraded Electronics in my SG Standard and holy shit!! Unbelievable! The tone is awesome. Quiet as hell and, it's strange, just what I have always wanted from a guitar, when you roll the volume back on the bridge pickup the tone gets thicker with great lows. Roll back the volume on the bridge and it gets clearer with great treble response. And i'm still awaiting the Maximus High Order. The RS kit is a must for you Gibson lovers.

I didn't get the kit but I did pretty much the same thing using CTS 500k audio pots, 50s wiring, and an Auracap and a Jensen paper and oil cap.

I noticed the sound got really clear! I'm using a cheap Agile LP copy so the difference was probably due to replacing REALLY cheap components.

I did the same thing. Ordered CTS 500k, 50s wiring and got some Hovlands. SOund got clearer more articulate, more dynamic with the volume knob. I also changed the tone cap value to .0022. More useful to me.

I forgot to mention that I also installed an aluminum tailpiece at the same time. But the difference in clarity was VERY noticeable. My pickup almost sounds too bright now. Before it was dark and kind of dead sounding.

They now have push-pulls for all the Nazis out there. I really like the bright cap setup that came with the kit. Makes the neck pickup sound awesome when rolled back. Or something in there does. I just oredered another kit for my Les Paul.
