It's a standard MIM Fender single coil, i bummed it off a friend when i made the guitar. And yes, Marshall MG's are solid state. Thanks!

I'd love to give my opinion, but ever since my computer had a virus last year, I have problems downloading certain format mp3 files, so I can't listen to give my opinion..

Re: YNGWIE MALMSTEEN
ok, so i got a hold of a grey-spec yellow 250 preamp today, how do you all tame the bass on it at high level and gain settings?

Re: YNGWIE MALMSTEEN
Try the guitar volume down slightly, or turn down the bass on the amp. I don't find my grey/yjm308 to be excessively bassy. You say the yellow 250 is Grey spec, has it been modded? Because stock the yellow DOD's are different than the earlier grey models, also some component quality definitely, possibly some values changed, Outlier is the expert on these and he is on vacation for the holidays for awhile, I'm sure he will tell us.
Congrats on the pedal.

Re: YNGWIE MALMSTEEN
Yes, it's been modded, and it adds a bit too much low end sag, but my overall sound starts to go a little thin if i turn the bass down too much. But still, i'm really happy to have it.yngwie308 wrote:Try the guitar volume down slightly, or turn down the bass on the amp. I don't find my grey/yjm308 to be excessively bassy. Re: YNGWIE MALMSTEEN
Jack sent me the file via email which worked fine. Nice job, since it's the licks from "I'll See The Light Tonight", I have a killer reference vid which is so dark and poorly shot, but the formerly child prodigy Rowan Robertson who joined Dio when he was 16 yrs old!! He does a nice take on this with the sustained chords which have vibrato added to them, their is a name for this that escapes me. He also does a nice job on DLR Vai. I remember reading that Rowan learned all the Yngwie licks when he was like 12 years old or something, I like it. The clip has the acoustic sound of the guitar as loud as the recorded amp, makes me think cell phone recording.
Now I can hear Jack (Hotforteacher's) playing that's very cool!

Re: YNGWIE MALMSTEEN
That just got added to my favorites, good reccomendation, yngwie308. I still can't believe that kid could do all that at 16! I'm 16 and can't do half of that stuff! But i have a new Paul Gilbert DVD, an Yngwie tab book and a DOD 250 and i'm not afraid to use em!yngwie308 wrote:Jack sent me the file via email which worked fine. Re: YNGWIE MALMSTEEN
yngwie308, i noticed in your sig that yngwie only uses 2 springs in his tremolo. does this help him stay in tune? i've been having tuning issues so i'll do about anything to fix it.

Re: YNGWIE MALMSTEEN
Jack, actually the top spring in the photo is black, so it dosen't show up as well. He always uses at least three springs, as the stock YJM's come with.
http://forum.metroamp.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=22959" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
What are your particular tuning issues? Sharp, flat, when returning to pitch?
Actually I have used Original Floyd Roses for so long as my tremelo guitar, my '57 reissue Blackie, has all 5 springs and I don't use the bar and never have on it. My 2004 YJM was my first experience again with a Fender trem since my first guitar the 1965 Transition logo Strat. So there is tons of info out there on how to keep a Strat trem in tune. What guitar are you discussing by the way?

I actually put some Vaseline in the tree, nut and saddles and it's staying in tune much better now. It was my EVH strat by the way.
